Every farm has a team behind it, ours just happens to have four legs or feathers, a lot of opinions and an important role (or at least thinks they do).🐄🐖🐓 🐕 🐈

🐔 The Hens – Our hardworking egg production specialists.

🐓 Louie, Bantee & Roo – Alarm clock department that starts well before sunrise.

🐄 Marshmallow, Sugar, Cinnamon, Poppy, Cocoa, Pepper & Nutmeg – The pasture crew. The ladies are also known as “the Spice Girls”

🐖 The Pigs – Our cleanup committee that investigates everything that lands on the ground.

🐶 Cooper, Bessie & Lula – Security, morale, and professional treat inspectors.

🐈 Little Bit – Head of pest control and self-appointed supervisor of every project on the farm.

and of course…

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 The Brusca Family – Chief animal feeders, fence fixers, egg collectors, tractor drivers, snack distributors and occasional chicken chasers. Everyone pitches in, whether they planned to or not. 🤷‍♀️

Over the next few weeks, you’ll get to know them all a little better. And keep an eye out for future employee of the week posts where an outstanding (or occasionally questionable) employee will be recognized for their hard work or creative interpretation of their job description. 🏆😂

So how did a girl from Alaska and a guy from Florida end up with a little farm in North Carolina with their kids?

Almost 15 years ago we were able to purchase property that once belonged to a family member and then later on the surrounding land as well. We worked hard toward our goals and in 2019 we were finally able to move here and begin building something new while honoring the history that came before us.

While we didn’t inherit a family farm, we did inherit a connection to this land. What started as a little dream just for us has slowly grown into a place filled with animals, gardens, early mornings and late nights and a desire to share our love of the land with our friends, family and community. ♥️

Welcome to Brusca Farms 🐓 🐖 🐄 🚜

We’re a first-generation family farm established in 2019 with a simple idea, to provide fresh, locally raised food while caring for the land, our animals, and our community.

Around here you’ll find fresh eggs, pasture-raised pork, seasonal vegetables, homemade jams, a fun cast of animal characters and plenty of muddy boots along the way.
