A few people have asked about NUCs and queens. I do not generally raise queens for sale. This years I am only selling a few NUCs as I am transitioning over to honey production bs selling NUCs. I will always have a few NUCs for sale. Keep an eye on my page as I will post when they are available and how many I will have. Thank you for the support
I have a small bag of bees wax if anyone wants it.
Honeybee meeting is this coming Friday the 2nd at 6PM.
Does anyone want to do some bee work in trade for a NUC in the spring? I hurt my back and need to do the following. Take out apivar strips, feed, and inspect about 22 hives. I would like to do this anytime from now till Sunday. I may be mowing in a few so leave a message and I will call back. Also, I will be there to instruct. I just need someone with a good back. Thanks
Message or call me 850-851-8038.
I just treated my hives with Apivar strips. I have six strips left. They are available right now for $2.50 apiece. Generally, you need two strips to treat a single-level hive or 4 strips to treat a double-level hive. Price is not negotiable as I have marked them down by almost half. Call or message me at 850-851-8038.

Friday's bee meeting when good. We got into a couple hives, and Aaron won a 3 LB slab on wax for a door prize.
So, I inspected my NUCs today and due to weather I do not believe they will be ready till end of May. Sorry but I can not control the weather. Everyday it rains sets them back three days as the trees and bushes take a couple days to recover nectar and pollen.
Bee meeting next Friday the 6th at 6PM. I plan to get into a few hives and talk about moving NUCs into a 10 or 8-frame box. Please bring a Hat and veil, if you have one, or a suit. I have a couple extra pocket hats and veils but not many. Any questions pls ask. Thank you for your support!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
30 splits done today. 15 about two weeks ago. All from 11 hives. I still got it. Lol
Doing splits tomorrow starting around 8-9 for most of the day. Come by if you want to help.
In case anyone is interested. Here is a bee class close to use.
For those that are on my NUC list as wanting them, I am doing splits this weekend and they should be ready the second or third week of May.
If you want to help with splits, be here on Saturday around 8-9.
Post any questions, please thank you.

Ok so spring is here, and people are thinking about bees. How many people in the Mammoth Spring and surrounding area would be interested in a Mammoth Spring Apiary Bee club? I would need at least 10 people wanting to join to start it. So, pass this along and reply yes is wanting to attend. Meeting will be on a SAT. Not sure which one yet suggestions are welcome. Also, location will be my Apiary in Mammoth Spring.
I will be splitting hives on 30 march and again on about 19-20 APR. If you want to help, send me a message and you are welcome to come help. You must have your own bee suit or hat and veil. This is not a class, but learning will happen. This is not a paid thing. It is voluntary. Doing about 15 splits on the 30th and about 30 on the 19th of APR.
Good video.

Recent studies show that insects are in decline across the globe and there may be a direct connection between the current climate crisis and these declining populations. DESYNCHRONIZED…
Inspected the hives today. They are growing well but just started really growing about two weeks ago. This three stacker actually only had bees in the top box, so ai had to put it on the bottom to force them to grow into the other boxes.

For all those that have ordered NUCs from me this year I thank you. I have ordered the queens, frames and NUC boxes to make the splits in March for you bees to be ready middle to end of April pending weather of course. If winter hangs in longer it will extend the time as the bees will not grow as fast in colder weather. Any questions pls post them here. Thanks again
If you have not checked out my New Business FB page I would appreciate it if you did. Like and share would be awesome. Yes I still do bees as well. Thanks

These Hive domes are an awesome asset to your apiary and help aid in winter inspections.
I will have 5 frame Honey Bee NUCs for sale come spring time. Projected they will be ready May 7 or 8th for pick up in Mammoth Spring, AR. This date is tentative as weather plays a major role in when they will be ready. Price is $165 a piece. 10% Discount for 10 or more. I will have about 30 for sale. Not collecting any money till you pick up. Message me with your name, phone #, email and how many you want. I will put you on the list and call to verify when they are close to being ready. Post any question you might have. Have a merry Christmas as well. Yes you can buy a NUC as a gift, but then it has to be paid ahead of time and I will give you a certificate.
Mammoth Spring Apiary has received it's Home Grown by Heroes certification by the Farmer Veteran Coalition. This lets people know that this business is owned and operated by veterans.
Closed my bee yard for the winter today. Added pollen patties to every hive and a Clauss Dome. I also put out sugar water for them in the 5 gal buckets. These domes are great for air circulation inside your hive and you can take off the top to peck in without disrupting the bees or exposing them to the weather. As you can see the bees are already taking to the pollen patties I put on then and you can see them through the dome. They do not even have a care that you are there. My pollen patty recipe is under videos. It is simple 6 cups bee pollen substitute or real pollen add 1 qrt sugar water. I also put in my mineral oils mix. That recipe is also on the video.
So the cold weather just jumped here as you can feel. We have a couple warm days coming up, so if you have not checked your bees for winter stores do it on the next warm day. If need add a dry pollen substitute patty to the hive to help get them through winter. Your bees will need at least one medium honey supper to get through winter plus some in the brood chamber. If unsure just give them a patty or two. I use the clauss Dome so I can look and peak into my hives to check patties in the winter. Gordon Clauss invented this dome and I love it. Here it goes again. I tried this about two weeks ago and only got 4 people. PLS respond if interested.
I am considering starting a Bee club here in Mammoth Spring, AR. We would meet monthly to discuss beekeeping topics. Right now we would meet at my house until we find a better spot. Right now there would be no dues to be a member, but as we grow that could change. I am thinking meeting on either FRI or SAT night around 6PM till 7PM. I would be the president and may be looking for a secretary, if needed. Please let me know what you think and suggested meeting date and times. I will not be able to accommodate all but will try my best. If I get enough people interested I will start it and post all INFO on this FB page. ( I am thinking we need at least 10 people to start a club.)Thank you for your support and I look forward to meeting with you all.
