Just one of my sweet girls enjoying a beautiful (almost fall) day!

I hate the drama that comes along with being involved in any community, but I also feel a responsibility of sorts to speak when needed since I've grown up with and spent most of my life in this community. I want to put some very general reminders out there into the world for those of you aren't "in it" to help you avoid heartbreak.

*If someone tells you that the cost of their animals is based on quality but then also tells you you have to sign a spay and neuter contract in order to purchase from them, please remember that if you aren't breeding "quality" isn't important. Quality in context means "show quality" which isn't important if you aren't breeding and are just looking for a pet. It's also entirely ok to ask what about the animals quality is increasing their price so drastically.

*Side note regarding spaying/neutering...do SO much research on this topic before deciding. Personally I feel there are far more cons than pros, but if you're well informed when making the decision, it is yours to make!

*If you see a term that you don't entirely understand (VM, Clean Lines, Full Face, Maxi Face, etc), ask the breeder to explain the terms to you and ask them to explain how those things affect the cost and/or care of the animal.

*While yes, English Angoras are a higher maintenance breed and by nature would also then typically be a higher priced breed, please understand what you are buying before pouring your savings into a critter. If you are after something to show, talk directly to show breeders who have wins to back them up. Don't take "quality" or "show quality" at face value. Ask questions, look for the right person to answer them. I will without fail tell you that I don't show and while I understand the SOP, my rabbits will almost always not meet those standards because of the colors/genes I work with.

*If you are after a pet, research breeds & breeders as if your life depends on it. You'll have this new friend for 8-12 years and as with all things, a higher cost doesn't always mean a better outcome. Find a breeder who will be a friend and/or resource if needed, and not just handle a business transaction with you and disappear.

that's all..just take care of yourselves out there. with sooooo many choices in this big life, choose to be kind always

Took a couple days of PTO to handle some things and just...breathe for a few hours. I've so far been spending my morning outside with my sweet adult buns. This is the girl from my profile picture and I'll never get over how beautiful she is. I'm so blessed to be able to spend time with these animals.

This little lady has a story and wasn't meant to stay here at all!

She was born from a very special bunny last winter. Her litter consisted of 9 babies and I had 0 intentions of keeping a little broken black doe because while I love black, it's pretty difficult to find black bunnies homes.

One day I go outside and this little 2 week old broken black baby is just SCREAMING. I look and it's leg is stuck in the cage wire..somehow. It had happened overnight so the poor bun had spent the whole night trying to get out which had turned its leg into a mangled mess. I got her out, cleaned her up, and did what i needed to to prevent infection knowing I'd need to eventually move her to a pet only home.

I know there's a whole group of you reading this saying "I would have culled her.". We'll agree to disagree there. I think we owe something to the animals we bring into this world and had I culled her it would have been such a life wasted, she's an amazing little friend.

Anywho...she stayed smaller..like SO much smaller..than her littermates. She was 1/4 the size of them for a long while. At weaning time, I decided to do something I typically don't do and let her share a cage with a littermate sister that I did plan to keep just until she caught up in size a little and I was sure she'd do well somewhere else.

Amazingly her leg healed up perfectly (there's not a single sign that she was ever injured)...she's still a small girl and well, she still lives here almost a year later and isn't going anywhere! 🤣

Not bunny related buttttttt...this is the first egg I've ever hatched and I couldn't resist sharing! This little Serama friend made its way into this world just a couple of minutes ago! It's such a wild experience to be there for those first moments with any animal...so grounding. The world is so much bigger than we are.

I don't currently have anybunny that can jump on any transport, buttttttttt if any of you need a REALLY good transport option, reach out to Lisa! She's amazing and your bunnies would be treated like royalty. She has another possible route posted that would go the opposite direction (west) too!

This route is set to begin Tuesday August 25th at 5:30 pm. If you have anybunny needing to hop on board PM me to add your stop. It can be in either direction or add a stop within reason of the route. I still have a few spots open for now.

Tentative route to begin late August or possibly early Sept. Limited spots available. PM me to add on your stop/location.
Leaving KY area to TN then to PA then back to KY would be the direction it is headed as of now.

reserved :)

rolling in hay is a baby bun's favorite thing to do! It's also one of the cutest things to watch..a whole litter just dog piling into hay.

i had originally planned to keep this little vm chocolate harlequin girl but i don't need to, i don't even have a buck to breed her to and I don't have the space in my little quarter acre yard to be keepin' buns just because I want to. 🤣

i'd prefer local pickup for this girl because my fall is getting ready to get pretty hectic and I don't have a lot of transport options, but based on location I can consider transport.

Update: this boy is reserved!

Due to no fault of his own this little man is again searchin' for the perfect couch to snooze on. He got bullied at his new home by a big bunny sister who gave him a bad haircut.

This is why I always say you shouldn't assume rabbits will get along and should always have a back up plan. This can happen with new introductions and it can happen years down the road!

He can hop away anytime, and is a very sweet, docile boy. He'd be the absolute best cuddle buddy to watch spooky movies with as we head into fall! He's also a pig lovesssss his hay!

Since he's already had a pretty stressful few weeks, I'd like to avoid transport for him. Local pickup, please!
