SS Ruby H374, an excellent brood cow originating from our friends at Sloup Simmentals does her job year in and year out. Creating a female that blends some of the nation’s top cow families was what I had in mind when we made this one. Cow families influence success, and S31L ties the likes of Griswold’s famous “Boots” donor, as well as the power of the “Knockout” family into one. Her dam, B086 won the Illinois State Fair as a calf for the Schick family, but her best days have assuredly been in production. S31L has the fundamentals of a successful brood cow. She is moderate framed, bold ribbed, deep sided, and good on her feet and legs. She’ll calve in short order for a quick return on investment!

The “Knockout” cow family ranks among the most notable in the breed for well over a decade now. There has been success in nearly every aspect, from the show ring to production. The dam of S13M is our Knockout C043 donor, making this female a full sister to a $48,000 heifer sold by Tim Schaeffer and campaigned by the Hendrickson family of Indiana to a Division Champion banner at the American Royal and a Top 10 Overall finish at the AJSA National Classic a few months later. S13M is big footed and big b***d, with plenty of length, extension, and size. Her mating to our exciting new herd sire, WHF Commandment M555, adds even more maternal potency with the likes of breed influencing donors like Summer 365C, Sugar C4, and Delilah 45D.

The Coping With Destiny progeny have been well received for their added look and presence. “Blazin 2 Destiny” is no exception. She is very functional in her build, sound and flexible in motion, square hipped, and high tying out of the top side of her shoulder. Her Broker sired dam was a mainstay in our herd, and always demanded a second look with her attractive phenotype and beautiful udder. You won’t have to wait long to cash a check from S37M, as she is due to calve at the end of October to Rocking P Private Stock H010.

There is not a lot to say about this cow that you can’t see for yourself. She’s moderate, she’s bold and robust in her center body, she has perfect feet, and a beautiful udder. This cow family traces to the early 2000s for us, and continues to leave females in the replacement pen routinely. Her sire, “Hardwire”, is the flushmate brother to the recently deceased “Bet On Red” and her dam is sired by Volk Backdraft CC F810, our go-to female maker. While I love this cow, her heifer calf at side, SSF Just A Memory S18P, is going to be difficult to watch leave the sale ring in September. She is a stunning deep cherry red heifer, that may very well end up being a highlight all on her own!

S11K is bred back and safe in calf, due to WHF Commandment M555 in the spring.

The calendar turned to August, and just like that we're preparing for the fall 2026 sale season! In addition to private treaty offerings on the farm, there is a group of females consigned to the North Carolina Fall Harvest Simmental Sale on September 5th. We have immensely enjoyed the sale group in North Carolina the past two years, and can't wait to reconnect and make more friends in Union Grove at the beginning of next month!
