Who doesn’t just LOVE the speckles and banding on Silverudd eggs! The peach/pink with purple speckles under a heavy bloom is what my Turken (naked neck) lays. She may be “ugly” to some, but her eggs are AMAZING!💕

My yard helpers for the day. 🙄🤣

When I tell people I have the nicest roosters & hens I really do mean it. They are literally out there with me all day doing yard work. All kinds of random ass things around them and they just act like nothing is going on. W**d eating, mowing, tilling, pressure washing, raking, digging, burn piles, cleaning the pool, vacuuming the pool, all colors of shoes, boots, pants, shirts, hoodies, robes, dogs, cats, kids, adults, strangers, all kinds of random things being carried around the yard…. This just goes to show you that you don’t have to tippy toe around your Roos. Live your life like normal and they will too!

Each day I open a different pen to backyard for so they can run around and be with me while I’m out there doing things. Today I had my grow out pen open. There are 4 rooster in that pen and not a single one has a mean bone in their body. I learned after my very first rooster had it out for me that temperament is not something I will compromise on ever again.

If your Roo(s) can’t adjust to your lifestyle and they are attacking you and/or your family that roo needs to go. There a soooooo many nice roosters out there that are on the chopping block just because someone has too many, give a nice one a chance and get rid of the mean one, trust me it’s totally worth it.

I LOVE hatching but hate dealing with brooders in the summer. Sooooo all summer I just hatch for others & I dont have to deal with the brooders. These little BCM’s hatched out Friday night and were picked up Saturday. 💕

Her I am laying in the bed responding to all the chicken questions and messages half of which I partly typed out response but got side tracked by something else and never pressed send…then I all of a sudden remember I went into the grow out pen this evening and was going to fill their feeders. But I decided I would fill them in the morning since they were already roosting.

I have been wondering if I actually locked the door to their pen since I changed my mind when I go to the back porch where the feed is and never went back to the pen.

So after about 45min of looking at the camera and doing head a head count and not getting 21, I better get my ass up and go check (better safe than sorry). And sure enough the door was open and not locked.

Now in person, I’m doing a head count and still missing 1. I checked every where, under the p**p trays, under the nesting boxes & behind the broody hen box (on my hands & knees in the dark kneeling in chicken s**t). I’m about to panic because the door was open enough for them to walk out if they wanted. It’s dark and I have a crap ton of raccoons in my yard at night & I don’t want to be searching in the dark. All of a sudden I hear movement in the corner behind me (opposite side of roosting bars)…I’m thing big fat rat and I’m about to haul ass…

Wellllll would yall look at this little TWIT! Her little silverudd self has squeezed up on that ledge for the night. While the other 20 are lined up like good little girls and boys on their roosting bars.

Anyway, head count is now 21, door is locked. I’ve re-showered and I’m “relaxing” again. Y’all have a good evening! 🤣😘

These 9 rainbow babies have just hatched! They all look amazing & are doing great. Mom will be picking up a few more eggs to hatch in a couple days because once you hatch you just can’t stop!😁🤩

Cajun Feathered Homestead picked up some hatching eggs a few weeks ago and these are the 27 babies that hatched! They all look great. If you’re not following her yet you should!

1 mint egg
2 pink eggs
