Facials on the Farm will be closing permanently this May to allow me more time with my family.
Thank you to all my clients for trusting me with your beautiful faces over the last 8 years 🧖🏼♀️.
Come stressed, leave refreshed. Professional, exceptional, affordable facials performed in a beautiful, relaxed, country home spa environment. Enjoy. Hannah
Hi, I'm Hannah, owner of Facials on the Farm. I have been a licensed esthetician since 2010. I started Facials on the Farm in 2014 to service you with upscale skincare treatments right in the comfort of our rural community. Take a nice, relaxing, stoplight free, drive down a country road to Facials on the Farm. Over the years I have had the pleasure of turning my love for skincare and passion for
the spa industry into my career. For the past 15 years I have managed high end salons, spas, medical spas and dermatology offices in downtown Chicago, the Northern Suburbs and currently in the Western Suburbs of Illinois....and I have learned a thing or two along the way. After graduating from Bradley University in 2004, my Family and Consumer Science and Business degree introduced me to a management career in the spa industry. In 2009 I began esthetic school to become a licensed esthetician and personally help clients in the treatment room with their skin concerns and struggles; certainly a more hands on approach compared to management. My extensive training comes from educators and on going classes through Mario Tricoci on Michigan Avenue, The Aveda Institute of Chicago, Murad at LifeSpa, Glymed, Dermalogica, Avene, Glytone, Bioelements, Neocutis, Obagi and many, many more remarkable training professionals. This career allows me to help improve and preserve my client's skin allowing them to age gracefully. Facials on the Farm is a home based simple spa that allows clients access to all things skin. Here my clients can treat themselves to a professional spa getaway without the hefty price tag or extended travel time. Custom facials, specialty facials, teen facials, back treatments, facial waxing and chemical peels available. Please feel free to message me for more information. Thank you for your interest and hope to see you soon!

Sunscreen is safe and can protect your skin against skin cancer and premature aging.
However, it is not as effective unless it's applied correctly. Follow this video from a future dermatologist when applying sunscreen:
👙Reapply every time you get out of the pool.
🧴Apply enough sunscreen. Half of the bottle to each leg -
2 full bottles to fully cover entire body.
✋🏼✋🏼✋🏼Rub and rub and rub and rub the sunscreen thoroughly into your skin.
🥼Apply sunscreen to all skin not covered by clothing. Sunscreen should be applied thick enough to look like white clothing.
👧🏼 In conclusion, to remain protected when outdoors, let a 23 month old apply your SPF.
Saturday flowers by local Lowen’s Flower Farm right here in Manhattan.
I love my Friday office 🧖🏼♀️
It’s a beautiful day in Chicago today. Hello 80’s ☀️.
😎 Enjoy it safely protecting you and your family from the sun with an SPF 30 or higher, reapplying every 2 hours.
📆 Many of you will be pulling out last summer’s SPF. Be sure your sunscreen has not expired by checking the expiration date. Typically sunscreen has a 3 year expiration date.
👧🏼🧒🏻 If you are using a spray sunscreen on the kids, remember you must rub it in.
🤗 Enjoy the day!

Blue light sessions are now available at Facials on the Farm. 30 minutes for $25.
Dr. Hellman, who practices medical dermatology and specializes in dermatological surgery, laser surgery and anti-aging skin treatments, explains how the blue light treatment system works for acne, its uses and her clinical experience with the technology.
Q: How does blue light technology work?
A: Blue light kills the acne-causing bacteria known as Propionibacterium acnes, or P acnes, which can cause inflammation. P acnes is sensitive to blue light. Using the blue light, eliminates the bacteria found in the oil glands in the skin. The added presence of infrared light (heat) in the home device causes the oil glands to shrink in size. The result is less oil in the skin and less bacteria, leading to the resolution of acne in the treated areas.
Q: Why is it effective?
A: Eliminating the bacteria from the skin with help from blue light decreases the inflammation associated with red pimples (papules) seen in acne. After a number of treatments, the blemishes disappear and skin regains its normal appearance.
Q: Which of your patients would you recommend this to?
A: I recommend the blue light treatment to my acne patients with red pimples (inflammatory acne). In my clinical trial with an at-home use blue light (Silk’n Blue, Home Skinovations Inc.), my patients had good results treating not only mild, but moderate and even severe, cystic or scarring acne. The device features blue light pulses that destroy bacteria within follicles and pores beneath the skin’s surface, treating mild to moderate acne and helping to achieve bright, clear skin in the comfort of the patients’ own home. Continued usage resulted in a significant improvement for all types of inflammatory acne. All patients with concerns over unwanted acne are candidates for treatment, regardless of their skin tone or severity of acne. I do not recommend this treatment to patients who are on Accutane (an oral medication), but blue light is an alternative for those who wish to avoid prescription medication.

Hello all 👋🏼
I’m sorry I haven’t shared anything in awhile. I’ve been busy ensuring all the extra precautions have been taken, PPE has been secured and extra disinfectant has been purchased.
And I’m happy to announce I’m seeing facial and waxing clients again!
In addition to following my usual sanitation guidelines, I’ve added a few extras and changes for your safety and peace of mind:
✅An air purifier
✅ Additional airflow with open windows
✅Disposable head wraps/bands
✅ Myself in a mask and face shield
✅ More hand sanitizer
❌Removal of steam as it can move the virus from the mouth and nose around the spa room. Hot towels will continue to be used.
❌Removal of gowns. Please wear a garment that allows access to your neck and décolletage.
📆 I will have upcoming openings for 9/25 and beyond posted soon! Please don’t hesitate to send me a PM if you’d like an upcoming appointment. As a reminder, I see clients Fridays and Saturdays.
🦠I work out of a home spa and want to keep everyone in the home safe. Please, if you or someone in your family is feeling even slightly ill or has a fever, I kindly ask that you reschedule/cancel your appointment. I’ll still be there for you when everyone is feeling 100%.
I look forward to seeing you soon 🧖🏼♀️

Hello all- I have been following the developments of the COVID-19 outbreak very closely. While it has been a very difficult decision, I have decided to close until mid-April due to positive test results a little too close to Facials on the Farm.
I practice strict sanitation guidelines per Illinois’ governing board using hospital grade disinfectant to ensure all surfaces and equipment are properly sanitized. Now that we have learned that Covid-19 can live up to three hours in the air, I feel it is best to temporarily close.
This is in attempt to keep clients healthy and an effort to protect our community from experiencing an unmanageable outbreak of the virus.
I hope that everyone has access to the CDC website and will follow any recommendations suggested by the agency in an effort to keep our community as healthy as possible.
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html?CDC_AA_refVal=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.cdc.gov%2Fcoronavirus%2Findex.html
Thank you in advance for your understanding. Also, clients already scheduled through April, I’m sending personal messages if your appointment has been cancelled based on what the date of your appointment is.
I will post available appointments once the time is right.
We are all in this together,
Hannah
