Pasture burning day finally! Thank you so much to the crew that burns the Konza prairie that came back a 3rd year in a row to help us burn. We start around the house and structures then move out to the big pastures.

Farm chaos report from Glenn Family Farm:

Pulled up the driveway at 3:15 today to find Basil in full crisis mode, not leaving the back corner gate corner even though she was loose on the land. Smokey and Mozzie were standing nearby all looking troubled. Turns out Pepita had wedged her head through and was choking and Basil was actively trying to push her back through like a tiny first responder.
I bailed out of the car so fast I nearly forgot to put it in park (door left wide open, very smooth). One gate latch later, Pepita was free and speed-walked straight to the barn for water and shade, it’s 90 degrees out here and she was hot and screaming.
Camera shows she probably wasn’t stuck more than an hour and a half, but still. Grateful I came home when I did, and honestly?? Basil deserves a cookie!

I took a video after I freed her as in the moment I needed to act fast ☺️
