Royal DC Stables Royal DC Stables is home to retired racehorses, neglected ranch horses and senior horses who needed a second chance. Our mission is to educate people .

We are based in San Antonio, Texas and share daily stories of rescue, recovery, training, and love. This channel seeks to be a source of information about horses, saddles and tack, riding, training, wrangling, packing and many other related subjects. Dewayne has been living the horse life for over 30 years, both as a professional and as a private owner. As a husband of 30 years, the father of 7 grown children and "Grumpa" to 5 grandchildren, this aspect of his life and experience cannot be separated from the reality of who he is, and makes its way into the mix as well. As a Christian with a varied and unique history in the ministry, and a sometime law enforcement officer, he also brings these life experiences to the table. It is not the purpose of this channel to present "the" way to do anything, but rather to use simple logic and experience to try to help others who might be looking for answers. It does not always offer direct answers to certain questions, but instead humbly seeks to show a road one might go down to find the answers they need for themselves.

A promising young British event rider has been left devastated after a horrific road accident claimed the life of her beloved competition horse β€” and shattered the future they had worked so hard to build together. πŸ’”

Tinks Walker, 17, was riding her talented 10-year-old horse Benny β€” officially known as Killossery Kaptain β€” along a country lane in Wiltshire on April 2 when tragedy struck.

Tinks was also leading another horse, Lily, when a car came around a bend. She says she moved both horses onto the grass verge β€” but the vehicle kept coming towards them.

The collision reportedly threw Tinks headfirst into the car's windscreen. When she came round, Benny was lying nearby with catastrophic injuries.

A vet was called β€” but heartbreakingly, Benny couldn't be saved and was put to sleep at the roadside.

Benny was an exceptionally gifted horse, previously ridden by double Olympic gold medallist Laura Collett.

For Tinks, he meant far more than competition success. The teenager had been working towards possible selection for Great Britain at the 2027 European Eventing Championships for Young Riders β€” juggling intense training with her A-level studies.

Her mother, Netia Walker, described Benny as the kindest horse anyone could ever meet.

But alongside the family's grief has come anger at how the collision was handled.

After a five-month investigation, Wiltshire Police reportedly told the family there was enough evidence to prosecute the driver. Instead, the driver was offered a safe and considerate driving course.

The family has questioned that decision and is now pursuing legal action over Tinks' injuries and Benny's death.

A friend of the driver has said she was travelling slowly and was deeply distressed by what happened.

For Tinks, the loss is immeasurable. Benny was her partner, her friend β€” the horse she had dreamed of achieving something extraordinary with.

No court decision can ever bring him back.

Should drivers in collisions that kill horses face tougher consequences β€” especially when police believe there was enough evidence to prosecute? πŸ‘‡
