Iā€™ve always used the style of hive tool on the left and had never really tried anything else.

Today I used the hive tool on the right, and itā€™s MUCH better. Itā€™s easier to separate frames and pull them out of the hive.

At this point, the only reason I can see to keep the one on the left is for cleaning boxes.

The bees are looking good across the board. Every colony has a 2026 queen, mites seem to be under control, and everybody is being fed.

Iā€™m going to start redistributing brood from some of the smaller colonies to boost the colonies that will be used for new yards. Because of that, Iā€™ll have 5ā€“6 extra 2026 queens available next weekend if anybody needs one.

$35 each, and theyā€™ll come in a JZBZ cage with a candy plug.

Hereā€™s a couple of queens I saw today. They did not come from a grafted cell. The bees made these on their own.
