This dude was hiding in a storage room. Fortunately, the daughter who found him is not easily startled, and loves frogs.
The picture doesn't do justice to his size. Her hand is actually above him, which makes him look smaller. He was enormously puffed up when she first captured him.
He got to go live by our creek. He is an American Bullfrog, and is native to our region.

There are only two eggs in this pan, both with double yolks. See how bright these yolks are? That is because our chickens are truly "pasture raised". They roam free all day every day eating bugs and plants. They have store bought food too, but they really love foraging.
We have a shocking amount of fresh eggs on hand right now, as they are laying 5-6 dozen a day. Please come by the farm and get some.
We are also likely to do a local parking lot pop-up stand very soon.

My daughter calls this girl Pancake because she flattens herself out so much to cover the eggs. She had at least 26 here. She did not appreciate me taking her stash.

This is Riju. She is my oldest daughter's bengal cat. Her favorite thing is to find the most ranky-stanky, B.O. soaked piece of laundry and bury her face in it. She will give it all the love that we want her to give us. Try and pet her for more than 30 seconds, and she'll try to take off your hand.

A few days ago I was in the grocery store with my 13-year-old, and two "spares" who are 7 and 9. They were chattering, singing, dancing around, poking and teasing each other. I thought I would like to tell them to be quiet.
Then I remembered how blessed I am to have every day with each of them. I am privileged to homeschool them. They are just being their natural selves when they gallop around me asking a bunch of questions that feel silly to me.
So, I gave them grace and let them bask in their childish natures. The time is short. I want to bask in it too. Even when my ears are tired.
