Little chicken update! 🐔

I finally gave up on the garden and have been letting the girls completely free-range for a while now. They deserve to be out — there are 50!

I also recently discovered that I have a rooster😵‍💫 He will be relocated soon because... I’m not dealing with that.

The chicks we bought on April 1st, 2026 appear to be laying now! And look how cute those little pullet eggs are! 🥹🥚

Two years ago, I bought a Blue Laced Red Wyandotte and she is the most gorgeous bird ever. I named her Darla! 🥰 Now Presley is just as obsessed with her as I am. Darla is one of the only chickens I can actually catch and pick up, so the kids can enjoy petting her!

And James is officially NOT scared of the chickens anymore. In fact, he will now CHASE after them. 😂 It is quite the show around here!

I hope you guys enjoy eggs because pretty soon I’m going to be overwhelmed with them!

We absolutely love our chickens, and raising them has been such a fun adventure! 🐔❤️

Starting next Sunday, I want to start something a little different at Hogue Farms — Free Bread Sundays! 🥰

I want to use something as simple as a homemade loaf of bread to spread a little joy, kindness, and love throughout our community. God calls us to encourage one another, share what we have, and be a light to those around us. ❤️

No sweet corn this weekend… but don’t count us out! 🌽
We’re officially wrapping up the 2026 sweet corn season. 😭💔 It’s definitely bittersweet to say goodbye, especially after Mother Nature decided to really put us through it this year!
Between the excessive rain, crazy winds, and perfect bug-breeding weather, our corn got hit HARD. But we’re still here and far from done for the season! 🌱🙌

And honestly… the rest of the garden is SHOWING OFF! 😍
🍅 Tomatoes are CRAZY right now!
🥒 Zucchini is still coming in strong
🫑 Colorful peppers are popping up
🎃 Lots of different squash are on the way — including PUMPKINS!

🥚 And remember those chicks from Presley’s birthday?! THEY’RE FINALLY LAYING! 🐔We’re now getting 15–19 fresh eggs EVERY DAY!

Plus… 👀 another bake sale is coming VERY soon! Fresh homemade goodies, farm-fresh produce, eggs, and more!

So even though the corn is done, this is definitely NOT the time to stop making trips to Hogue Farms!

Come see what’s growing, grab some fresh produce, stock up on eggs, and keep an eye out for those baked goods!

We’ve got a GOOD variety of fresh-picked goodies today, August 26!🥒🍅🫑🥚

🍅 Tomatoes — slightly green? No worries! Set them on your windowsill for a day or two and they’ll ripen right up! — $0.25 each
🥒 Zucchini — $1 each
🥒 Cucumbers — $1 each
🫑 Assorted bell peppers — $0.50 each
🌶️ Jalapeños & banana peppers — $0.50 each OR 4 for $1 (no recalls on these)
🥚 Farm-fresh eggs — $4/dozen
(And yes… no recalls here! 😂)
