Many hands have helped us make this pile of hard gold stacked up on our property. Feeling the love of people who loan us the tools to take care of ourselves. 🥰
But this post is more about where we are at now.
Why is the consumerism society trying to get us to miss every day that is now? Why are we alllowing them to keep us on this loop of constantly focusing on things of the future and what we must buy before then?
I borrowed tools and time to get this project done. Yeah, how you heat is important. But I am done. I will not spend the next three weeks even focused on this worrying about when I will need it.
That is the difference in mind set. I do the thing that is a necessity, and not worry about it. And go back to now. And be here now the entire time. Winter comes every year. Crazy right? So one of my chores is to get wood. It’s a lot different than a whole new color scheme of decorations cause it is the new fashion to have white instead of gold this year.
Actually most years we would make a new decoration. Cause we started with none. One year it was acorns with marbles glued in them. One year it was play dough pressed and dried in shapes. One year, wood burned images and sayings on slices of wood. I love our tree! It is covered in memories of those times of creativity and laughter and hot glue and glitter everywhere. 🫣😂
But we do it the week before. No celebrating one thing before another.
Cause today? We celebrate today!
So we don’t miss a single one. Every day is important!
So yeah. Find a reason to celebrate today. And then tomorrow, find a reason to celebrate tomorrow. And u less you are buying local handmade, maybe think about making your own decorations. You will smile every time you pull them out. Even if it is a snicker at the gnome with a sideways face and only one arm. Yup. They have a special place in our home.
