Well folks, we’ve got some very exciting changes coming to Gerth Farms!! I have accepted a position as the Training Director back at the Emergency Veterinary Clinic of Southwest Missouri, but don’t worry, I will still be working at the Animal Medical Center in Marshfield as well! I am so honored that they called me to fill this position. With these new changes coming, we are downsizing our program! We will have a few adults available and of course our current puppies. These cuties will be available at incredible discounts!! All of our dogs are AKC registered and will be on strict spay/neuter contracts for this discount! Adults will be fixed before rehoming. Thank you to all of my wonderful puppy families, we will not completely discontinue, but I need to lighten my load here at the farm!!❤️🏡🚙

We really haven’t posted about our sweet golden retriever boy who is looking for his furever couch! This little cutie had a head injury as a puppy. We have no clue how it happened, but he has made a full recovery!! Due to the injury, he does have a bump on the top of his head, but he has been checked several times by our veterinarian to be sure he will be ready to go! He is just as playful and attentive as our other puppies. He is AKC registered and fully vaccinated! He has been reduced to be sure he gets a wonderful home, knowing his noggin isn’t quite perfectly shaped lol!
I know we’ve had a pretty large social medial following and neighborhood watch on my sweet Clydesdale mare, Delilah. She has been due to foal, and this afternoon she laid down and had a beautiful c**t. Unfortunately though, there were a few complications with the foaling and he didn’t make it. He was positioned incorrectly, the placenta detached as she was foaling, and her cervix wasn’t fully dilated. It started as a normal foaling. Even with our best efforts of pulling the foal, me being a vet assistant, and immediately starting chest compressions, he was unable to be revived. I cannot thank my good friend, and our amazing vet enough for coming to my rescue so quickly! It took me, my friend, and my husband to get this foal out and to save our sweet Delilah! All that matters now is her health and making sure she heals properly. She has been under amazing vet care sense she has been at our farm, and we have followed any recommendations needed to have a healthy baby, things just didn’t go our way… please say a prayer for Delilah tonight, we look forward to her healing and relaxing comfortably on our farm. Maybe someday we’ll get to welcome a clyde foal, but sadly not today💔🐴

Spending the day riding some good horses! This is our APHA stud Skip Away Cherokee, he needs a little work on his mane lol! He has produced some beautiful foals and we expect one from him hopefully in June☺️❤️🐴

National dog day!? Well that’s everyday here at Gerth Farms! We don’t post much of our mixed breed rescues (we have a few😉). This is Roscoe, he came to us as a parvo puppy and ended up becoming part of the family. At first Kinley was trying to kick him off the bed, then decided his cuddles weren’t too bad🤣❤️🐾🏡 They’re all a part of the family around here, and I sure wouldn’t change the daily chores for anything. I sure love our whole crew!

I haven’t posted much about our AKC standard poodle litter between Cyrus and Dolly! They were born July 16th and they’ll be ready for furever homes September 10th. All 3 are currently available, 2 girls and 1 boy❤️

Well I guess the cats out of the bag… I mean dog*🤣 We welcomed two beautiful AKC golden retrievers to Gerth Farms over the weekend! The female is an English cream and the male a beautiful golden! We do have a name theme going on around here, so what suggestions do y’all have? We’ve had suggestions for Huckleberry and Finn, Garth and Trisha, or a variety of other country singers/southern names! We do not plan to have a litter until health testing and OFA’s are done, but we’re planning for spring of 2022!!
