A rough morning here. My new cow was in trouble calving and I didn't act fast enough. I was watching from the yard and I thought it was taking too long. I went to the field and realized a front leg and shoulder was all that was out. Sadly by the time I got in to help it was too late. A little red heifer. Dang! I have had Dexters since fall of 2007..second one I have lost. I wasn't here for the first one. That was probably 10-12 years ago. I am sorry little calf.

Some changes have happened here. Due to hubby's health our son James, his wife Anita and son Luke have bought all but 2 of our cows. I will post about his cattle and mine. They intend to start their own farm page for Mossy Bluff Ranch. I am so thankful they stepped in.

The black cow in the background is DLS Kelti. She is dam to the dun, the red and the black cow with her. The black heifer is her granddaughter from the black cow. She will be 10 years old next week. She has been a good one.
