This produces very fine stemmed, leafy, nutrient rich hay that horses love. We systematically spray and wipe for weeds resulting in weed free bales. This hay field was established in 2013 by sprigging tilled river bottom land. It is limed every spring to optimize pH for growth. Every bale is put up green and dry. Feel free to come see our hay shed before making a purchase. You won't be disappointed.

Much like the T-Rex in the original Jurassic Park our Black Angus heifer constantly tests the electric fence that makes up the pasture enclosure. Unfortunately, she found it down yesterday and made her escape. So far, no sign of her.

If you live around the Strafford, Marshfield, or Rogersville area and hear of a loose black angus heifer/cow on the loose, please let us know. She's solid black, about 800 lbs, and has two red fly tags, one in each ear.

Fall is here and our hay season is over. Bermuda doesn't like the cold nights and is going dormant for the cool months. Never fear, we still managed to put up more than 9,000 bales of premium quality Bermuda Grass horse hay.

Those bales are available out of our enclosed hay shed for $7/bale. We sold out last year by Thanksgiving so don't wait to fill up your hay barn. Located between Strafford and Marshfield in SW Missouri. Delivery available and credit cards accepted for a small service fee. Let us know how we can help.

We fire up the baler today and expect to drop about 2,500 bales. Get a discount on your horse hay this year and help us clear out the field at the same time.

In the past 30 days we've had 18.4 inches of rain. Over the last 60 days we've had 25.66. According to the MO Ag Dept 35% of this years first cutting forage is still maturing in the fields. What's this mean for hay buyers?

Be careful what you get. Most hay loses it's nutritional value the longer it is left in the field. This means that while the fields are full of hay, it is nutritionally suspect. Our fist cutting was taken 30 days go and is represented by 3000 bales in our enclosed hay shed. Hopefully, with the next dry spell we will add another 5,000 bales.

Drought or flood, please come see us for your forage needs.

3.25 inches in 36 hours. Has this been a wet year or what? We were able to put away over 3,000 great bales on our first cutting. Those are in the barn and available for $7/bale. Unfortunately, nearly 1000 bales were still in the field when the rains hit. We busted them open in an attempt to dry and salvage, but too much rain came and they were lost.

Our hope is that things start drying out again after the 4th and we can take our second cutting. Stay tuned!

We are cutting! Discounted hay out of the field starting Tuesday June 9th! $6.00/bale out of the field. $7.00/bale out of the barn. 60 lb bales.

We were hoping to be cutting and baling hay this week. One thing farming teaches you is that you can't fight nature. With nearly 3 inches of rain in as many days our field is too wet to make hay. As much as we want to cut it we won't take the chance on moldy bales. Better to let the ground dry a few more days first. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience.

05/26/2015

With all the rain our hay field is beautiful, green, and very lush. The only trick now is waiting for a window to put it all up dry. Hopefully we can cut it down, get it dry, and bale it next week. We will have a discount for all bales bought and loaded out of the field. Bales will be $6 out of the field and $7 out of the barn.
