Our Hearts Are Broken! 💔
There are incredible highs and heartbreaking lows that come with raising and loving cattle, and this is one that has hit especially hard. Anyone who knows me knows how deeply I love all of my animals, but losing this girl has truly broken my heart.
Yesterday, we lost FSH Psche. I found her late yesterday afternoon, and at first, I thought she was just “dirt napping,” like cattle sometimes do. Unfortunately, when I walked up to her, I realized she had passed.
Psche had grown into an absolutely gorgeous heifer. With her strong pedigree, we were so excited about her future and what she could bring to our program. I wish I had gotten my camera out more when she was in the pasture because she was definitely a beauty. I think I was always in such awe of her..I simply forgot to take the pictures.
Losing one never gets easier, especially after watching them grow and having such high hopes for their future. We are heartbroken to have lost this beautiful girl far too soon. 💔
This photo was taken last November at the Cheyenne show. She truly earned the backdrop photos we have of her. We had a necropsy done today, and she had a perforation of the small intestine.
