Hey there! We’re just 2 Broke Girls who love canning on a mission to teach you how to feed your family affordably, easily, and healthier while having long term shelf stable foods in case of emergencies!
I’m Cortney, 32, and a single mother who pinches pennies to provide quality meals on a budget for myself and my son. Ive been in the food service industry for 16 years, so I bring a lot of knowledge and safety information with me. I hold a food safety certification, and previously held a food management license. I’ve been canning for about 8 years now on my own, but watched and helped my parents and grandparents my whole life. My goal is to pass on the knowledge and recipes that I know in order to help you do the same for your family. I love to know what is in my food, where it came from, and how it was prepared.
Hey, I’m Destony. I’m a single mother who’s lived and survived times not knowing how I was going to feed my family. I grew up watching my mom and grandparents canning. Cortney and I started canning together a few years ago when I had a friend with grapes. Free to use, so we jumped on it! This summer Cortney and I decided to do all of our canning together. It was so much fun and a great learning experience we have decided to bring our knowledge and experience together to you! I enjoy knowing what is in my food, where it came from and knowing that there won’t be any recalls. Personally I look forward to becoming more self sufficient and less reliant on the grocery stores.
Together, we bring our knowledge and recipes to you and your family. When you attend one of our classes, we will provide you with everything you need for the recipe, you will take home 2 different jars of food (one pressure or water bath canned, and one dry canned) and the knowledge to can in your own home.
