Let’s talk about predators real quick!

This one was staring down my silkie coop this afternoon.

For starters I have a 12 gauge shotgun that is always loaded with “rubber shot” bullets. This has always worked best for me to help deter Bear from wanting to come back.

For starters above all things Myself and my family have to stay safe. Secondly I am here to defend my home that includes my flock.

Next, please have safe sturdy coops. Please lock your chickens in at night if they free range. Please always look inside the pen before you close the door, countless times I have looked in there and found my Cat but some have found snakes etc….

Lastly, do what ever you feel is right, we work so hard to keep these birds safe, healthy, happy and well looked after.
