We’ll see you on October 24th! 🎃

We have made the seemingly impossible decision to RESCHEDULE our Oyster Equinox event tomorrow to October 24th.

While the tides and flooding have improved, the forecasted winds will make for a big challenge to pull off this event, and bring probably some cold and undesirable conditions for attending.

We have Pairadox Band already scheduled to play from 4-7pm on October 24th, and also will have a lovely pottery activity to offer on this day.

We apologize for the disappointment and hope that everyone stays safe and dry as this Nor’Easter passes through.

X🦪X🦪,

The Hatchery crew

THIS is what local looks like. 💛

Words cannot express fully how incredibly grateful we are to The Hatchery Eatery for inviting the Farmers and Fishermen Cooperative to be part of such a special evening — and for creating a space in Mathews that so genuinely reflects the spirit of community and captures what makes this place so special. The music from Vines & Vinegar was absolutely phenomenal, adding even more magic to such a memorable evening!

Nights like this are exactly why we’re building this cooperative: to connect local producers with local people, strengthen our working waterfront and agricultural community, and make it easier to choose local.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, asked questions, bought something from one of our producers, or simply came over to learn what we’re working toward. We’re just getting started. 🌾🦪

🌾🦪 We’re popping up at The Hatchery Eatery on Gwynn’s Island this Saturday, August 29th from 4-sunset.

Come join us for a little soft launch of the Farmers & Fishermen’s Cooperative and get a taste of what we’re all about.

We’ll be out at The Hatchery with an assortment of locally grown, harvested & produced goods from our cooperative members, plus information about our organization, the producers behind it, and what we’re working to build here in our community.

🎶 Live music by Vines&Vinegar

🦪 Oysters served from The Hatchery food truck will be provided by cooperative member Chapel Creek Oyster Co. aka Mathews Deadrise Charters

🌱 And the oyster butters and mignonettes will feature produce grown right here by cooperative member One Mo’ Farm and Mush Love in Mathews VA

Come grab some good food, listen to some live music, meet a few of your local farmers, fishermen & producers, and learn more about the cooperative.

Local food. Local producers. Stronger together. 🌾🌊
