🚨🍠 IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: 43rd ANNUAL SC SWEET POTATO FESTIVAL CANCELLED 🍠🚨
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the cancellation of the 43rd Annual SC Sweet Potato Festival, scheduled for Saturday, October 10, due to forecasted storm conditions.
This was not an easy decision, and certainly not one we wanted to make. However, the safety of our vendors, volunteers, entertainers, attendees, and community will always be our top priority.
Countless hours of planning, preparation, and hard work have gone into making this year’s festival special. We know this news is disappointing, and trust us when we say we are just as heartbroken. 💔
🍠 BUT WAIT… NOT ALL THE TATER FUN IS CANCELLED! 🍠
🀄 Tiles & Taters Mahjong Open Play is STILL ON! If you’re registered to play, get those tiles ready because the games will go on as planned!
🥧 SWEET POTATO PIE BAKE SALE! We will still be selling delicious sweet potato pies on Saturday, October 10, from 11 AM–1 PM at the Market on Pearl! Stop by, grab a pie, and take a little piece of the festival home with you!
We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to our incredible sponsors, vendors, volunteers, community partners, and everyone who has poured their time, energy, and love into this beloved Darlington tradition. Your support means more than you know. 🧡
This year’s theme, Homegrown Roots & Heartfelt Reunions, reminds us that even when the weather changes our plans, the roots of our community remain strong.
A little rain may cancel the festival, but it can’t wash away our sweet potato spirit! 🍠🧡
