Love a good morning in the garden!
This year we downsized and did a few things in raised beds.
In the past, we've over stretched ourselves with garden season being in the summer(our busiest season as a family)
Summer is catch up on allllll the things(cows, fence, outside work, repairs, building what needs to be built, there always seems to be a list a mile long lol), mixed with summer basketball and squeezing in the fun things to make memories while the kids are out of school.
We used to do a huge garden and the quality just wasn't there.
Last year we didnt do one at all because I just couldn't add to my plate on that scale.
This year I came to the realization that trying to do too much was sucking the joy from it because it became such a chore and something I really didnt have time for.
So, I decided to just do a few things and make it where we could just go pick what we needed and not be overrun by anything.
It has 100% brought the joy back. I have 4 of these beds and I didnt even fully fill them all.
And let me tell you, it is THRIVING!
So excited for veggies, hopefully soon! As for now, it's definitely a good way to start my morning and I'll for sure do this until my kids are a little older, at least.
Growing your own food doesnt need to be extravagant. You dont need a ton of space. Any is better than none.
