Some like it hot. For those who do, Sean and Liz Logsdon have the perfect hot pepper jam.

The two operate Local Yokel Jam Company, which has been setting up at the Farmers Market every Saturday. They have developed a fierce following.

“There is a science to this,” said Sean, who has been selling hot pepper jam for 13 years. “My wife developed an amazing product back in 2013 when we were living in Canada. We didn’t think much about it until a local butcher tried it and wanted to sell it in his shop. It was a huge hit.”

Sean and Liz have since relocated to McMinnville and live only about two miles from the Farmers Market. They make their jelly on Lance Street.

Sean says he just loves the hometown atmosphere – and fresh food – available at our Farmers Market.

“We eat what’s in season at the Farmers Market,” said Sean. “Honest Moo has been there this year, and they sell the finest steaks I’ve ever had. When hot peppers are in season, we’ll buy hot peppers from other vendors to use in our jelly. We have a fabulous apple butter recipe, and I can’t wait to buy locally grown apples and use them to make our apple butter. The Farmers Market is great. I keep saying they’re going to need a bigger pavilion.”
