๐Ÿ— Whole Chickens - Available individually or in bundles

๐Ÿ– Pork - Individual cuts or build your own bundle for a discount (breakfast links have sold out)

๐Ÿฅฉ Beef - 1 ground beef bundle, 1 sampler bundle, roasts, short ribs, and sirloin steaks are all that are left. Grabs yours soon!

๐Ÿฅš Eggs - in the farmstand or message to reserve

๐Ÿ… Produce - find bulk canning tomatoes as well as veggie quarts in the farmstand this week.

๐Ÿ” Live meat chickens - 4 week, 6 week, or 8 week old live cornish cross available

๐Ÿค Bantams - 3 bantam hens available, nearing laying age

๐Ÿถ Pet treats (freeze dried beef liver, chicken liver, and chicken hearts), magnets, tshirts, and fall simmer pots can be reserved. It is a bit too humid to put into the farmstand, but they are available for pickup.

Parents of kids in sports! How are you eating dinner and getting everyone fed?

We've got 3 boys in on different teams/sports and this season we are on the struggle bus. Game nights are even more chaotic. This week was insane. ๐Ÿ˜ต

(Not to mention all of our animals collectively lost their minds this week and fences suddenly didn't matter. ๐Ÿซฃ My car was also in the shop so we were down to 1 vehicle. It's gotta get better from here. ๐Ÿ˜…)

From garden harvests to harvesting animals on the farm, we are in the busy season. Most days start with a garden harvest destined for our farmstand, but whatever we have a surplus of gets packed into the freezer or canning jars. Today's project is canning green beans, a canning job I haven't done in years! While I work through that harvest, the rest of the family is tackling the first batch of cornish cross meat birds. Taking on the butchering job this year meant we needed a new space and the reveal is crazy! This project has made such a difference for our farm (and our profits)!

The tomatoes are coming in strong!

These make amazing roasted salsa. Just cut in half and lay them on a sheet pan with a few cloves of garlic, an onion, and a hot pepper of your choice. Roast at 450 for 10-15 minutes or until browned on top. Blend in a food processor with some salt and lime juice. Serve warm or chilled, it's great both ways! (I don't have a specific recipe because we just wing it over here, but I'm sure there are an abundance of roasted salsa recipes out there if you want specific proportions.)

Stop by the farmstand for a quart of these cherry tomatoes, mostly from the Tommy Toe and Purple Bumble Bee varieties. ๐Ÿ…

Every bit of rain *just* misses us. Less than 1/4" of rain has fallen on our farm since July 8th. The pastures are crispy. Our second cutting of hay is ready, but if we cut those fields they will also go dead and brown. These are problems we never predicted and have no experience in. For now, the cows have first cutting bales and the calves are still on their mamas, but something has got to give.

We need rain. (And it looks like it will miss us again tonight.)
