Welcome to Controlled Chaos Urban Winery
Our Adventure Begins!!! After many years of searching, we finally found a place that is ours! From our first pail of frozen must, to getting grapes shipped in from California and winning amateur awards along the way, our excitement of crafting a special glass of wine continues to grow year to year. And soon we will be able to share this passion with many others.
Our love of wine started many years ago with the four of us coming together and opening a bottle (or two). The taste, the aromas, the experience had intrigued us. Soon after, there were visits to local wineries. Then trips to the northeast region wineries. Then trips to the west coast to dive into more of what wine has to offer. We experienced a variety of styles and flavors that had us wanting more. We realized the range was wide and endless. And every aspect of wine grabbed a hold of us and wouldn’t let go.
The tasting, the visits, the variety of wine had us searching for answers to questions on the process of creating something so enjoyable. And after some time, we decided to try our hand at making something ourselves. After our first batch was complete, we were hooked! Spending days cramped in our basements, late night crushings, waking up in the middle of the night to “punch the cap”, never deterred us. And we knew one day, we would have a space to keep this passion going.
Controlled Chaos Urban Winery is setting up shop as part of the Common Ground complex in Medina, Ohio, and as construction and buildout begins, winemakers Tim and Chris, along with their wives, Renee and Tonia, hope you join us on this incredible journey and we can’t wait to serve you our first glass of what Galileo referred to as “sunlight, held together by water”.
