Franklin made his grand debut today!! 🐢💚 What a good old feller he is!!

We love listening to their little voices and hearing their sweet laughter. There is just so much excitement, joy, and wonder in every moment! These are the little things we never want to forget.

We are still trying to figure out exactly how old Mr. Franklin actually is! We were told he is 5 years old, but everything we have read is leading us to believe this big guy may actually be somewhere between 15–25 years old! (We don’t care we wanted an old guy!!)

And get this… Franklin weighs close to 90 pounds!! 🤯🐢

He is truly the sweetest, friendliest giant, and we are so excited to have him here on the farm! We know the kids are going to absolutely LOVE him! 💚

Mr. Luke will be building Franklin his very own little house on wheels so we can easily move him when it’s time to bring him home for the winter! 🏠🐢

Today, Franklin spent the whole time roaming around the playground while we were in class, and I think it’s safe to say he had a GREAT first day! 🐢🌿

We stopped a few of our kiddos after a game we played on the first day and asked them what they’re most excited about this year. 🥹

Some said recess.
Some said making new friends.
Some said Bible study.
Some said lunch.

And some got missed because… well, Mrs. McKee might have thought she was recording. 🤔😂

Mrs. McKee’s 1st & 2nd graders had a BIG week too!

This week was all about getting to know our new friends, getting comfortable in our new classroom, and starting the year off with lots of fun! We made rain sticks, started our Bible studies, read some great books, and wrote all about our summer adventures. 📖✏️

We are already loving watching these girls learn, grow, and build new friendships, and we can’t wait to see what this year has in store for them! 💗

Life Skills Tuesdays & Thursdays are always a HIT! 🤍

This week, our kiddos rotated through four hands-on groups where they learned about animal safety, leadership & teamwork, tool safety, foraging & outdoor safety! 🌿🐐🛠️

We love giving these kids opportunities to learn practical skills, build confidence, work together, and try new things!

We are SO thankful for our teachers who pour so much love, time, and knowledge into these kiddos. We truly couldn’t do it without them! 🥹🤍

Mrs. Mami’s kindergarten & 1st graders have had a BIG week back in the classroom! 🥹❤️

This week was all about bonding, growing, trusting, and feeling loved. What a beautiful way to start a new school year!

Mrs. Mami is truly the best, and we are so thankful for her and everything she pours into our babies each and every day. She loves them, encourages them, teaches them, and makes them feel safe and cared for.

We are so thankful for this sweet group and for the amazing start they’ve had! 🥰📚🌱

This is the most peaceful place. 🤎

We are so thankful for our farm—the place God has given us to grow, learn, work, and make memories.

We are thankful for the families who trust us with their children. We are thankful for the farm animals that bring so much joy. We are thankful for the laughter, the lessons, the friendships, and all the little moments that make this place so special.

There’s just something about farm life that makes your heart slow down and reminds you how blessed you truly are.

So thankful for this little piece of God’s creation we get to call home.

We are SO thankful Mrs. Jen is back!!

Today was her and her girls first day back, and we couldn’t be more thankful to have them with us again!

Everyone who knows Mrs. Jen knows just how special she is. We need someone like her in our corner—someone who loves our kids, supports our families, and always shows up with a big heart. We are so blessed to have her back at The Underwood Branch!

We failed to get a picture of her and her two daughters together, but Bailey Rae made sure to grab one with her this morning.

Welcome back, Mrs. Jen! We sure have missed you! ❤️
