We had an absolute blast this weekend at Bumpus Harley-Davidson of Memphis! We rolled in with our pop-up tent and Ole Hickory Pits ACE-BP to cook a very special rib contest and fundraiser for .2024. ❤️

Eleven teams came out to compete for the ultimate bragging rights—Best Ribs and People’s Choice—and what an incredible day it was!

Now, I am **NOT** known for being a morning person, and that 4:00 AM alarm clock was BRUTAL. 😂 But for such an amazing cause, it was 100% worth it. We had the best time hanging out with our BBQ friends and family, and it was also a great opportunity for me to get some practice in for my first solo backyard competition at the Bartlett BBQ Contest in October!

A huge THANK YOU to Bumpus Harley-Davidson of Memphis for hosting such a fun event. And to The Barbecue Experiment guys— Larry Dorris, Rod Collier and Dustin Aycock —you all did an amazing job putting this together. We had such a wonderful time!

Will-Be-Que Competition BBQ Team also put on an awesome whole hog cook and demo and took home the People’s Choice Award! 🐷🏆

After prelims, we were absolutely ecstatic to find out we were sitting in **1st place** heading into the finals, alongside our friends at Poker Porkers and Maverick’s BBQ. BTW - Maverick's are the best bbq neighbors ever!! Thanks for keeping us cool!!!

Then came the awards… and what a JOY it was to hear our names called last! 🏆🔥

What great weekend in Grenada! Thank you to Duan Willis and his team for a fantastic contest. Katie and I had a great time with friends and our BBQ Family!

With all the heat and humidity, our pork wasn’t quite where we would have liked, but our ribs were on point and the judges agreed! We came away with 1st in Ribs and won Grand Champion!
