Libertas Montessori School Garden Fundraiser

You know I work hard for local food access in the Memphis community. Our food access is directly tied to nature, and one school, Libertas School of Memphis, is raising funds to expand its permacuture program! We already have a full fledged composting program, chickens, about 3 acres of veggies and flowers! We want to expand with a hoophouse, build a fence, re up on tools, etc! If you donated to my kickstarter last year, you should know that the North Memphis Farmers Collective is helping by making the tractor we got available to the school! Help us out! Friends, our partner operation, Ronin Leo Organics, is trying to raise funds to build a greenhouse and thereby extend their growing season. Please extend to them either a few dollars or a friendly share to help the Urban Ag movement continue to grow in Memphis!

The purpose of the greenhouse would be to set up a base for horticulture in the community and to instruct the community at large about plant propagation and growing food.

At SmartMule Urban Farms we work hard to bring you 100% raw local honey. Adam Guerrero inspects a frame the bees have been working on in the hive. Frames usually contain a combination of beeswax, honey and eggs being fed and nourished by the hive queen.

You guys must be in to harvest time. Do you preserve any veges? I am just planting my spring seeds ready to plant out October 26th or thereabouts after Spring gusts and drops in temperature in Auckland, New Zealand. Have lots of recipes for preserving zucchinis, chokos, peppers. I am sure you could teach me a thing or two also.
