🌱 Little Hands, Big Growth! 🌿✨

We had an amazing time welcoming Ms. Matthews’ 1st Grade Class from STAR Academy to Urban Roots for a hands-on Seed Planting Workshop! 🪴💚

Led by our very own Farmer Chris, these young scholars got their hands in the soil while learning how seeds grow, what plants need to thrive, and the importance of caring for our environment! 🌎🌻

At Urban Roots, we believe every seed planted is an opportunity to grow curiosity, inspire young minds, and connect the next generation with nature! 🌱✨

🌱 Growth is happening all across the garden.

This month, our garden beds are thriving with squash, spinach, tomatoes, and other fresh crops. Our learning spaces continue to take shape, the chicken coop is ready for its future residents, and the impact of this project continues to grow through the support of volunteers, families, and community members across Memphis.

Every seed planted, every lesson shared, and every helping hand brings us closer to our mission of connecting people with agriculture, sustainability, and healthy living.

Thank you to everyone growing with us. 💚

🌱 Growth you can see. Impact you can feel.

From vibrant blooms to fresh collards and beets, every bed tells a story of hands-on learning. These rows were planted with purpose alongside , giving our students the opportunity to grow more than just food.

They’re growing responsibility, connection, and real-world skills right here at Urban Roots.

This is what learning looks like outside the classroom.

It’s National Agriculture Week! 🌾

This week is a time to recognize the farmers, researchers, educators, and agricultural leaders who help keep our communities thriving. Agriculture touches every part of our daily lives, from the food on our tables to the fiber and resources we rely on every day.

Tomorrow, members of the Agricenter team will be in Nashville for Ag Day on the Hill - Tennessee, joining others from across Tennessee to celebrate the importance of agriculture and the people who make it possible.

We’re proud to be part of this incredible industry and grateful for everyone who works to support agriculture across our state!
