Some people drive by a farm and see cattle on the pasture, but what they don’t see…
Is the barn lights on before the sun comes up and long after it goes down, all the halters hung on the wall all different colors because they all deserve their own, the chicken scratch covering the whiteboard with everyone’s tailored feed rations, the soaked wash rack from hours of training hair, the family and friends who stop by to lend a hand even when theirs are full…
The Weigel family is a prime example of all these things. We sold this heifer to Jett in the fall, because he needed a special kind of calf.. you wouldn’t know it by how he finished but he was very timid and nervous around the cattle but his parents wanted him involved in the showing culture. So I said I had a couple that my son Kolt(3 at this time) was walking around and would fit the bill. Her patience and calm demeanor allowed him to gain the confidence and respect only she could teach him.
It’s truly a privilege to raise cattle that not only look the part but become a family member to others the way they are to us..
It’s more then just raising cattle❤️
She finished her county fair tremendously and we all couldn’t be more proud of Jett, her and everyone involved in this process. Whether it was helping with fitting, clipping or weighing her through out her show career!!
