Well friends if this is how the Winter is going to go we're gonna need a lot more hot cocoa!
Lots of pretty views in our woods. Went out to see the woods and rescue some heavy laden trees and shrubs. Sadly we've had quite a few trees down from all that heavy snow including our lovely pear tree and a maple tree.
I've collected some of the broken branches of evergreens too. We'll be turning them to something special for your porch & home this weekend!
Stay Tuned!
Well so much for planting more native plants into the ground this week! π
Are you ready? The late warmth we had sure put me behind on Winter prep--- completely slacked on normal stuff like putting extra blankets, cat litter and the Winter emergency kit in the car. (Knock on wood we've never used it~ well except for those yummy Trader Joes nutrition bars π
last June!
Do you have your shovels and snow brushes handy? Don't forget to add rock salt by the door.
And before you rush to the store to get stocked up~ CHECK IN ON YOUR NEIGHBORS especially our seniors and young folks.
Get stocked up on cocoa, batteries for your flashlights, stuff for crockpot dinners, rock salt & coffee too!!
How do you prep for Winter? What's your best tip? (besides moving to Florida every October! π
Well, Accuweather escalated this one pretty fast. βοΈππ₯π₯βοΈ

A rainy day didn't mean fireside cuddles with Fozzie & mugs of hot cocoa.
Nope not here. Instead 300+ native plants needed to get tucked into the Earth asap!
Cold with rain-- this day meant gloves soaked and COVERED head to toe with dirt..
a friend stopped over for dinner. She saw my rows of beds then found me out back cutting Winterberries for a wreath..
I was so filthy with dirt & grass in my hair she asked who I buried!!!π€£
Anyway..during a particularly heavy rain I got fed up....these plants HAD to get put in but I was getting soaked..
That's when I got a brilliant idea!
I ran into the barn and dug thru my beach gear for my beach umbrella β±!
It's my new farm bestie! π€£ I can wait to use it next Summer!
This morning I found out was out flower farming in the rain too!
Determined farmher over there for sure! Check out her recent post- muddy overalls are THE fashion flower friends!πΎπΏ
