…En el 2004, luego del fallecimiento de mi padre, mis hermanas y yo creamos y financiamos un centro de nutrición y cuidado para niños en Barranquilla, Colombia. Se llamaba Nutrir Barranquilla. mi madre lo manejaría, hasta que cumplió 80 años. Ahora se llama Fundación NU3 y continúa dirigida por un grupo mujeres maravillosas y dedicadas. Realicé una donación importante de 5000 copias de Secretos de la cocina colombiana como capital inicial para el primer año de Nutrir e impartí clases de cocina, asistía la institución para eventos especiales con los niños. Fundación Nu3 ahora alimenta a más de 13,000 niños cada día y el cuál me hizo tan feliz poder ayudar a todos los niños de la fundación fue una experiencia maravillosa.
