What a great day! Grateful Bred takes the Maryland Million Turf Sprint at Laurel in front running style with his ears pricked 💜 and Eryx ran a close 2nd at VA Gold Cup in the ratings handicap. There are no words to explain how much this day means to us! Thank you to our entire team at home, Mr. Keys 🔑, the Collette family 🐠, Jevian Toledo, Barry John Foley, Grateful Bred, and Eryx. replay in the comments…
Link below to a great article about a very special owner of ours who has sadly passed away. Mrs. Collette’s Eryx runs tomorrow and we know she’s watching over him smiling 💜
A life well-lived:
Sara Collette’s small-time steeplechase program produced winners at every level and fulfilled the dream of every owner-breeder.
Sara and Bruce were fixtures on the circuit, paddockside and railside when their horses were running. She knew horses and she knew bloodlines. She personally researched pedigrees and nicks to select the best matches for her program.
“A lot of thought went into it,” says trainer Madison Meyers, who has the last homebred Sara Collette saw race – Eryx. “She bred exactly for what she wanted – jumpers. She didn’t breed for the flat track and hope they’d get a second career as a steeplechase horse.
“Her horses could be late-maturing, which wouldn’t interest a lot of people. But these were big, late-maturing horses, every one of them with big, open gallops and most were very good jumpers.
“You’d say that makes her a success in the breeding industry, no matter what level. You breed for what you want, and you get it.”

Ahhhh New Saloon…what a LOVELY horse. 💜
There's a new babysitter in town! Former TTS racehorse New Saloon (Lemon Drop Kid x Akronism) has taken up babysitting duties this fall. He loves his kids and he's a bit more inclined to run around with them than the other babysitter geldings, so we hear he's the "fun one."
Familiar faces heading down the road, new faces coming in 💜🤩
We are so proud of this horse and just lucky to be a part of his career 💜🍀 and for the record I didn’t cry THAT much…
