Our oldest picked us up a butternut squash last week for fall decor and I told her that makes some of the best pumpkin desserts! It was a hit for this Lancaster farming recipe we tried out this morning.
I love to use butternut squash in my pumpkin rolls too! ☺️ 🍁🍂

Entering things in the fair takes me back to my childhood of the Northumberland county fair starting up and calling up our family to see if we could bring up some entries to add, and we definitely added to best family memories finding two side-by-side blue ribbons when we went to check out the exhibits Monday night.
And yes, I did try the Boot Scootin’ Boogie from Poppy's Coffee Co. 🤗

My dream of having a mother duck successfully hatch her nest has finally come to fruition. Good job, Lemon! Amazed by God’s incredible design… I don’t think it’s coincidence that these ducks seem healthier and heartier than incubator babies.

Today’s bakes were both compliments of one of my favorite bakers/authors Gesine Bullock-Prado…. Louis-Approved pumpkin pie and summer to fall focaccia….
The focaccia was for dinner, but I keep seeing more disappear from little hands who have decided it’s delicious!
If you’re looking to grow in your baking skills, I cannot recommend her enough! She doesn’t just write recipes, she shares her wealth of knowledge. I have at least 6 of her books. 🤩🤩

Last night’s dinner was a definite success and hit!! Einkorn flour pancakes made with Orontes Yogurt.
One nice part about running out of time to make pancakes and sausage for breakfast is already having a dinner plan. 🙃😀

We have a handful of birds ready to fly the coop 🙂

3 white Muscovies (range from 2 weeks to 1-2 months but have introduced all three to each other)

3 royal palm turkeys around 3 weeks old

2 white pea chicks around 10 weeks old

3 white silkie chicks off heat

3 white Ameraucana hatched from ermine Ameraucana eggs also around 3 months.

I’m working on handing over more projects to my kids of what they want to raise and less of my own (Esther) Let me know if there’s something you’re interested in!

All are straight run.

I think something stole an egg out of Tilly’s nest last night, but still, she patiently waits for those babies. Muscovies take 35 days incubation.. longer than other ducks and longer than a goose!
