Another reason to visit us this weekend. Meet New Groove’s Defying Gravity (Fiyero). He arrived this afternoon (another sneak delivery - I am now 4 for 4 on missed births!🤦🏻‍♀️) a big healthy boy at 17 lbs. Mom is Skye who was born right here on the farm almost exactly 3 years ago. She celebrated her 3rd birthday on the 15th. She is a first time mom and is doing very well with her new bundle of joy! We have availability both 6/20 and 6/21 for alpaca treks, and guided and self guided farm tours.

Baby girl has a name! Introducing Siku (pronounced SEE-koo) (New Groove’s Glacier Bay). Her name is the Iñupiaq (Native Alaskan) word for ice.

Siku is a textbook cria (for which we are VERY grateful) and is doing all the things she is supposed to. Sitka is a very attentive mama.

The farm will be open this weekend for guided and self guided tours plus AM and PM alpaca treks. Come meet Sitka and Siku and all of their friends including our April babies Odette and Phoebe who are approaching their 2 month birthdays already.

ITS A GIRL for Sitka. Three is apparently my lucky number. The 3rd birth I have missed BUT we are 3 for 3 girls so far this year with 3 more babies coming (2 due next week 1 due July 1st). This girl snuck into the world around 10:30. Found at noon barn check up, dry and running around with her sisters. She is HUGE…18.4 pounds! And born EXACTLY on her due date at 345 days gestation! Textbook! We are so happy to welcome her to the herd! Name reveal to follow.

Sitka is large and in charge. She is due tomorrow 6/6. The farm will be open on Sunday 6/7 by appointment for guided and self guided farm tours and AM and PM alpaca treks. Make plans to join us and perhaps get a first glimpse at Sitkas new baby (provided she cooperates!). And of course we still have our two April babies Odette and Phoebe who are growing like w**ds! Visitors will have the chance to suggest Alaska themed names for Sitka’s new arrival. There may be a special surprise for the winning suggestion. 😉. Sweetie ended up back at New Bolton on Thursday 5/14 and ended up with emergency surgery at 1 AM Friday morning during which they discovered a mass in her intestines. The mass was successfully removed and has since been confirmed NOT cancerous. Sweetie and Phoebe remain at New Bolton and we hope to bring them home by Monday 5/25 at the latest.

The farm will be open BY APPOINTMENT on Sunday 5/24 and Monday 5/25. We still have Odette on the farm who is growing like a w**d and our next cria is due 6/6.
