A New Walmart for Midlothian

We appreciate everyone who attended our community meeting a few weeks ago to learn more about the proposed Walmart Supercenter at the intersection of Hwy 287 and S Walnut Grove Road. We learned a lot by listening to those who attended and appreciated all questions and feedback.

We are proud to be part of the Midlothian community fabric and are excited about the possibility of bringing one of the first Walmart “Stores of the Future” to the community. We will continue to post updates on this page.

Walmart would like to invite the community to learn more about our plans for a new Supercenter off S Walnut Grove Road and Hwy 287 in East Midlothian.

Company representatives will present the plans, to include the proposed store layout, traffic plan, and other relevant details. Please join us on Thursday, January 29th at 6:00 p.m. at the Midlothian Conference Center.

Walmart is excited to announce plans for a new supercenter in East Midlothian off 287. The store will be a signature "Store of the Future" and will generate new tax revenues for the city that will help fund further infrastructure upgrades as well as schools, parks, the police department and fire department to help keep our community safe – all without increased burden on local property taxpayers. The development will also include a traffic management plan and updated road infrastructure, aimed at ensuring that our customers and neighbors can continue to conveniently and safely access the area.

Walmart has engaged the City of Midlothian to request approval of entitlements to develop this Walmart “Store of the Future” Supercenter. Additionally, company representatives will soon announce a community meeting to share more information and answer questions. In the meantime, please let us know what you’d like to learn about the project!
