I'm exploring an idea and would love some feedback!

What if PTSheFD offered hands-on cooking classes for kids ages 5+?

Not just making snacks or decorating cupcakes. I'm talking about teaching real cooking skills while building confidence, patience, teamwork, and resilience.

Nothing is scheduled yet. I'm just seeing if there's enough interest to make this happen.

Would you sign your child up?

Comment INTERESTED or send me a message. I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Here is your Friday reminder:

Buy yourself the cookie.

And text the person you have been meaning to check on.
It does not have to be a profound mental-health conversation.

“Hey, how are you really doing?”

“Want to grab coffee?”

“I saw this and thought of you.”

Sometimes staying connected starts with something that small.
And if your version of “I saw this and thought of you” happens to be a box of ridiculous cookies, I know a guy.

Order at PTShefD.com.

I want to recognize a friend of mine who built something incredible.

Next week, Moto Federation celebrates its second anniversary, and I couldn't be more proud of what Lee Laney and Jenn Sola have created.

They've built so much more than a business. They've created a community where people support each other, creativity is encouraged, and everyone has a place.

And for me, that community has meant more than they probably realize.

There was a point when I was ready to walk away from baking and cooking altogether. I was burned out, frustrated, and honestly didn't know if I wanted to step foot in a kitchen again.

Lee wasn't about to let that happen.

He encouraged me to get back to baking, pushed me to keep creating, and gave me a place where I could experiment, take risks, and rediscover something I thought I'd lost.

MotoFed has been one of the biggest supporters of Post Traumatic Shef Disorder, but more importantly, Lee has been a genuine friend.

Watching what he and Jenn have accomplished over these past two years has been incredible. Building a business is hard enough. Building a community that people genuinely want to be part of is something special.

Next week, I have the privilege of catering MotoFed's second anniversary celebration, and I can't think of a better way to show my appreciation than doing what they encouraged me to keep doing in the first place.

Lee, thank you for believing in me when I was struggling to believe in myself. I'm incredibly proud of what you and Jenn have built, and even prouder to call you my friend.

Here's to two years of MotoFed, the community you've created, and many more years of success.

Now let's celebrate with some damn good food! 🍪

Buying a cookie from me does not make a donation to a mental health organization.

I want to be really clear about that.

What it does help me build is a veteran-founded business that is willing to put PTSD, military sexual trauma, mental health, and post-traumatic growth right in the middle of the conversation.

No euphemisms. No pretending trauma only happens to certain people.

And no lowering the bar on the food just because there is a mission behind it.

The mission matters.

The cookie still has to be incredible.

If that sounds like something you want to support, you can find the bakery at PTShefD.com.

Cookies are the bread and butter of this bakery.

But some of my favorite projects start with somebody sending me a message that basically says:

“I have an idea…”

Cakes, pies, tarts, large cookie orders, celebration desserts, unusual flavor combinations. If it is something I can legally produce from my cottage kitchen and I think I can make it worth eating, I want to hear about it.

You do not need to know exactly what you want either.
Give me the occasion. Tell me the flavors you love. Tell me what you hate.

Then let me think.

Custom-order requests are available through PTShefD.com.

🍫 Great chocolate starts with great people, and great ingredients.

If you've ever had any of my chocolatey creations from Post Traumatic Shef Disorder, you've already had a taste of Tickled Sweet!

One of the things I love about building this business is getting to work with other local businesses that take their craft just as seriously as I take mine.

Tickled Sweet, located in the heart of historic downtown Milford, makes some absolutely incredible chocolates and confections. From their handcrafted chocolates and rich, creamy fudge to their caramels, toffees, and other sweet creations, these folks know how to satisfy a sweet tooth.

Their chocolate has become part of what makes my own desserts special, and I'm proud to support another local business that puts quality first.

Next time you're in Milford, stop by Tickled Sweet at 317 Main Street. Treat yourself to something incredible and tell them the Shef sent you!

This post has no profound lesson.

Sometimes you just want a giant cookie.

I respect that.

If you’ve been seeing these things on your feed and telling yourself you’ll order eventually, consider this your sign.

Online preorders are open at PTShefD.com.

Choose your cookies. Pick your pickup time. I’ll handle the butter and chocolate.

Therapy comes in many forms. This one happens to have flaky salt on top.

Three cookies. One brownie. Four very different reasons to make a bad decision before lunch.
This is the core lineup at Post Traumatic Shef Disorder right now.

Double Chocolate Fudge
Dark, soft, rich, and unapologetically chocolate-heavy.

Browned Butter Malted Chocolate Chunk
Browned butter, malt, big pieces of chocolate, and flaky salt. Familiar, but pushed further.

Peanut Butter Salted Caramel
Soft peanut butter cookie, salted caramel in the center, flaky salt on top. No chocolate. It doesn’t need it.

And sitting behind them is the gluten-free, sugar-free brownie.

That one matters to me because “gluten-free” and “sugar-free” should not automatically mean you get the sad dessert at the end of the table. It should still feel like dessert.

The mission behind this bakery matters. PTSD, MST, mental health, resilience, and post-traumatic growth are all part of why Post Traumatic Shef Disorder exists.

But the mission does not give me permission to make mediocre food.

The food has to stand on its own.

So, pick one:

Double Chocolate Fudge
Browned Butter Malted Chocolate Chunk
Peanut Butter Salted Caramel
or the gluten-free, sugar-free brownie?

HOOVES as become an important part of my story, and I’m incredibly grateful for the work Amanda Held and her team continue to do for veterans, first responders, and their families.

Through trauma-informed programming, community, and a very different approach to healing, HOOVES has helped more than 900 people find connection, support, and a path forward.

This year, I’ve had the privilege of speaking on behalf of HOOVES three different times.

Each room has been different, but the message has remained the same: the impact of an organization like HOOVES extends far beyond the days someone spends in a program.

For me, HOOVES became an important ingredient in my recipe. They gave me community, a blueprint, and another way to look at what could come next.

Today, I have the opportunity to carry that message into other rooms and help more people understand why this work matters.

I’m honored to represent an organization that believed in me, and even more honored to help tell the story of the work Amanda and the HOOVES team are doing every day.

Three stages this year. One organization I’m proud to stand behind.

Trauma does not disappear because life starts getting better.
It becomes something you learn to work with.

An ingredient you never asked for, but one that is already in the kitchen.

For me, post-traumatic growth has not meant pretending the bad things were somehow worth it. It means deciding what I am going to build with the life I have now.

Part of that became Post Traumatic Shef Disorder.

So yes, I want to sell you an absurdly good cookie.

I also want this little bakery to make it easier to talk about PTSD, MST, recovery, and what happens after survival.

Cookies and custom orders are available at PTShefD.com.
