Old friends & New friends. The last few weeks have been full of great conversations and connections — from NYC to Chicago — while the 2026 harvest continues arriving here in Nicaragua.
Andrea has been sharing the economics and bigger-picture thinking behind the “Made at the Source” approach with students and Fair Trade leaders along the way.
Thank you to the NYU Department of Nutrition and Food Studies for the invitation and thoughtful exchange with students.
And thank you to Chicago Fair Trade for creating a place “at the Fair Trade table” for coffee made at the source.
It is always encouraging to see people engaging with the idea that coffee can create more value, skilled work, and long-term sustainability in the communities where it is actually grown.
Coffee can be more than an export crop. It can be a finished product, a source of skilled work, and a long-term investment in coffee communities themselves.
Having Lucille along made the visits especially meaningful. She has grown up inside Twin Engine Coffee and already says she wants to work at Twin Engine Coffee when she gets older ☕️
And, of course, it is always great to visit our friends at Postmark Cafe and Cafe Bossa, serving up Twin Engine Coffee!
Abrazos fuertes a todos!
