We are still moving forward with our Restore Our Roots community cleanup this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, and we would be so grateful to have you join us!

We’ll be out there starting at 6:00 AM each day, but please don’t feel like you have to be there bright and early to make a difference. Come when you can. Stay as long as you can. Whether you have 30 minutes, a few hours, or the whole day to give, every single set of hands helps.

We have a mountain of work ahead of us, and we know we can’t do it alone. ❤️

🛠️ TOOLS AND SUPPLIES WE COULD REALLY USE:

Bring whatever you have available! Some especially helpful items include:

* Lawn and heavy-duty work gloves

* Thick, heavy-duty yard debris bags

* Fencing pliers

* Fence cutters and wire cutters

* Hammers

* Bolt cutters

* Loppers and pruning shears

* Hand saws and bow saws

* Chainsaws (with experienced operators and proper safety gear)

* Rakes, shovels, and pitchforks

* Wheelbarrows and garden carts

* Tarps for dragging debris

* Ratchet straps and come-alongs for appropriate recovery work

* Water-resistant boots and sturdy work shoes

* Eye protection and hearing protection

🚜 HAVE A CONNECTION FOR HEAVY EQUIPMENT?

If you know anyone with a mini excavator or skid steer who might be willing to lend a hand, we could REALLY use that help! We have massive trees down across fence lines, and getting those moved would make an enormous difference in our recovery efforts. If you have a connection, please reach out!

⚠️ A QUICK BUT IMPORTANT HEADS-UP FOR FAMILIES:

We are working as hard as we can to clean up the farm, but the damage is extensive. We still have deceased chickens and turkeys scattered throughout the property, and unfortunately, as fast as we work, there is still more to find.

If you’re bringing children, please talk with them beforehand so they know they may see things they aren't used to seeing. We want everyone to come prepared for the reality of what we're dealing with. Please keep children away from damaged fencing, unstable trees, debris piles, machinery, and any affected animal areas.

💧 WHAT WE'LL HAVE FOR YOU:

We’ll have coolers full of water available! Please bring any snacks, lunch, or other essentials you'll need to keep yourself going throughout the day. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, and come ready to work safely.

📍 The gates will be open, and we'll be there! You can park along the property line on Highway 87.

Friends, this farm has been our family’s livelihood, our dream, and the legacy we’re trying to build for our children. The damage is heartbreaking, and some days the amount of work ahead feels impossible. But we believe in the people who make up this community, and we believe that when we come together, we can begin putting the pieces back together.

You don't have to own a tractor. You don't have to be an expert. You don't have to give us an entire day.

Just come as you are, bring what you can, and help us RESTORE OUR ROOTS. 🌱

This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, beginning as early as 6:00 AM each morning, we're opening up the farm for community cleanup days, and we could really use some extra hands! Come when you can!

Hurricane Isaias left us with catastrophic damage. There are trees down everywhere, limbs scattered across the property, massive piles of debris to move and stack, and more work than two people can possibly tackle alone.

And if we're being honest? It's overwhelming. We look around at everything that needs to be done, and some days it's hard to know where to even begin.

But this farm feeds families. It supports our little business. It serves this community. And right now, WE NEED OUR COMMUNITY.

So we're calling on our farm friends, our customers, our neighbors, and anyone who simply wants to lend a helping hand.

🚗 PARKING: You can park anywhere along the property line on Highway 87. The gates will be OPEN, and WE WILL BE HERE!

Come for an hour. Come for a few hours. Come for the whole day if you're able. Every little bit helps!

You don't have to be a farmer. You don't have to know a thing about homesteading. You just have to be willing to help.

We know everybody has their own mess to clean up right now. We know people are exhausted. We know this storm has taken so much from so many families.

And we certainly don't take it lightly when we ask for your time.

📢🚨HOME DELIVERY CUSTOMERS, PLEASE READ ENTIRELY 🚨📢

We want to take a minute to give all of our home delivery customers an honest update about what is happening with deliveries.

When we first started offering home delivery, it was just us....loading up the vehicle, getting everything organized, and making the routes ourself. It didn’t take long before we completely outgrew what one person could reasonably handle, but we continued doing it as long as we could because we knew how important that service was to so many of you.

Then, through our website manager, we were connected with our current delivery partner. They got us onboarded, and honestly, it seemed like it was going to be a fabulous partnership. It opened the door for us to serve counties and communities that otherwise would have been very difficult for us to reach.

Unfortunately, we received some news a couple of days ago that changed everything.

Our delivery partner informed us that they would no longer be finding drivers for our routes and that it would become our responsibility to have drivers lined up.

I immediately went to work trying to find a solution. I had 18 people express interest in accepting routes on occasion and those individuals went through the onboarding process with the delivery team.

Since then, even more has unfolded, and ultimately, we are no longer going to be utilizing our current delivery provider.

That means, unfortunately, we are going to have to pause home delivery while we actively search for another delivery solution and new partners.

And I want you to know just how incredibly sad we are about this. 💔

We know that home delivery has become part of the routine for many of you. We know some of you live a considerable distance away. We know that having a box of milk, eggs, meat and other farm products brought right to your door has made shopping with us possible when otherwise it may not have been.

We are not giving up on finding another option.

But in the meantime, we are also incredibly hopeful about one major change we've made a couple weeks back before we knew any of this was changing....

Herd and Harvest Market by McFadyen Manor Homestead is now OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK! 🎉

We truly hope that being open every day will give those of you who have relied on delivery more opportunities to make the trip to the store—even if that drive is a little longer than ideal.

And remember: our milk keeps for TWO WEEKS.🥛

At one point, we had quite a few customers on bi-weekly delivery schedules, and we never heard of anyone having an issue with their milk lasting until the next delivery.

So while we know this isn't the same as having groceries arrive at your doorstep, we really do feel confident that many of our customers can find a couple of times each month to make the trip, stock up, and take home everything they need.

And we promise—we are actively looking for other delivery options, drivers and potential partners. The moment we have something solid to share, you will hear it from us first.

To everyone who has supported our delivery program from the very beginning: THANK YOU. ❤️

Thank you for trusting us to put real farm food in your refrigerator. Thank you for sticking with us as we've grown, changed, learned, and figured things out along the way.

We are disappointed that things have panned out this way with our delivery provide, but we are not defeated.

For this week ONLY we unfortunately have to make a one-time change to our delivery schedule. We will NOT be able to complete deliveries on Thursday and will instead be delivering FRIDAY.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. This is a necessary one-time change, and we truly appreciate your patience, grace, and understanding! ❤️
