Great to have Lake Country Lutheran High School and Mount Calvary School helping on the farm today. They harvested about 200 pounds of produce to feed our community.

It was a beautiful day to celebrate the harvest at Mount Calvary Community Development Corporation. The Farm to Table event gave us an opportunity to learn from interns who spent their summers learning how to farm. The farm grows a variety of fruits and veggies to donate to the community, including neighboring Ascension All Saints - Family Health Center.

Thank You Bliffert Lumber for donating the materials for our new cold frames. The interns help to build these. We have two done and two more to build. These will greatly improve how well our seedlings do when transplanted into the field. This allows them to get used to being outdoors.

Siebert staff make good gardeners! We got to spend the morning at Mount Calvary Community Development Corporation's beautiful farm harvesting vegetables, which will be donated to families visiting the adjoining Ascension Family Health Center. Some of this delicious produce will also be used to prepare food for this Friday's open house from 5-7 p.m. at the urban farm at 2400 W Villard.

Pastor Dan from Mount Calvary Community Development Corporation will have locally sourced fresh produce for Near West Side residents from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm. Can’t make it today? The market will be open this Sunday again from 3:30 pm - 6:30 pm.

New to this year’s market will be the MKE Mobile Parklet situated right across the street. Presented by BID #10, the parklet was installed thanks to the efforts of the Wisconsin Bike Fed and will provide Near West Siders with additional outdoor seating.
