🛷As a child my papaw Lon always got excited about snow. Not only did snow mean snow cream, but it also meant nutrients for next years garden crops. Even better it meant free nutrients. He was all about saving money. 😁. 🌽Nitrogen is one of the most important nutrients for plants because it helps them grow strong and healthy.🪴
🌱It’s what plants use to make green leaves and produce food through photosynthesis. Without enough nitrogen, plants might look weak or have yellow leaves.
🤨Where do we get nitrogen from?
🌿Nitrogen is all around us in the air. But plants can’t just take nitrogen from the air—they need it in the soil. While commercial fertilizer can be a source of nitrogen, you’ll be happy to know that snow can actually help with nitrogen!
❄️When it snows, nitrogen from the air gets trapped in the snowflakes. When the snow melts, it releases that nitrogen into the soil, giving your plants a natural boost.
🫛It’s like free fertilizer from nature!

I think it’s time to start seedlings 🌱
Not without heat mats and grow lights of course 😉

I looked at the big box stores today and it was $5 for transplants! $5!!!! 😳! That’s insane!

If you have ever wanted to start a garden I encourage you to start your own seeds!
Never plant in ground until after last frost.
We North Georgia folks typically don’t until after Mother’s Day! Follow me for me gardening tips 😃👩‍🌾😘

Transplants & raised beds! We have frost protection so we’re getting an early start here on the homestead! 🤞
