Some updates leave us smiling, some bring tears to our eyes, and then there are those that remind us exactly WHY we started this journey in the first place.
Today, we have something incredibly special to celebrate here at A6 Australian Shepherds!
Our beautiful Kelsey, a Rip × Reba daughter, alongside her dedicated handler, Abbie, has officially passed her Pet Partners evaluation at the HIGHEST level — COMPLEX! 🎉❤️
For those unfamiliar with Pet Partners, it is a nationally recognized therapy animal organization. Achieving a Complex rating is an incredible accomplishment that demonstrates the teamwork, temperament, confidence, and skills needed to navigate more challenging therapy environments.
Kelsey and Abbie can now begin a beautiful new chapter visiting hospitals, assisted living facilities, children’s reading programs, and other places where a little love, comfort, and companionship can make an extraordinary difference.
THIS. RIGHT. HERE. IS WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO.
Breeding Australian Shepherds has never been about simply producing pretty puppies for us.
It’s about purpose.
It’s about preserving the qualities that make this breed so extraordinary. It’s about temperament, sound minds, versatility, intelligence, and producing dogs capable of thriving in the lives they are placed in.
It’s about the countless hours spent researching pedigrees, carefully selecting pairings, raising babies, evaluating personalities, and making decisions with the future of our program and every puppy in mind.
It’s about the sleepless nights, the sacrifices, the hard work, and the pieces of our hearts that leave with every single puppy.
Because at the end of the day, we aren’t just raising puppies. We’re raising someone’s future best friend, their constant companion, their working partner, and sometimes, a dog who will go on to change lives far beyond their own family.
And Kelsey is doing exactly that. ❤️
While we are incredibly proud of the foundation we strive to build here at A6, we also know that genetics and early development are only the beginning.
Abbie, YOU deserve so much recognition!
The dedication, patience, training, love, and commitment you have poured into Kelsey are what helped make this achievement possible. You saw her potential, invested in her, and together you’ve accomplished something truly remarkable.
We couldn’t be more grateful that Kelsey has you by her side.
There is something incredibly humbling about watching a puppy you once held in your hands grow into a dog who will now walk into hospitals, sit beside someone who may be struggling, bring a smile to a child’s face, or offer comfort to someone who simply needs a friend.
We may raise them for the first few weeks of their lives, but the impact they go on to make can last a lifetime.
And THAT is what makes every sacrifice, every long night, and every ounce of hard work worth it.
To Kelsey and Abbie, congratulations on this extraordinary accomplishment! We are beyond proud of you both, and we cannot wait to watch the lives you touch together.
