From the Homestead

From the Homestead From the Homestead is a small sewing & craft business in south Minneapolis. I can hem your pants, patch a tear, fix a zipper, or make you some curtains!

For me, sewing is part creativity and part problem solving. I also love to make things: quilts, pillows, purses & bags, tea cozies, and more. I strive to make everything fun, creative, well-made, and useful.

Oh boy, it has been a while! But I've been busy sewing and there are lots of chicken toaster covers and lots of adorable sheep in the shop! (The Etsy shop that is.)
Thinking about what I should make next... more stuffed animals? A quilt?

I've secretly always wanted to be in an Art Crawl. Lots of places have them, but not my neighborhood. Until now!
Introducing the Corcoran Powderhorn Art Crawl! Next Saturday, May 6th! In my very own neighborhood! And I'm part of it! Yay!
Those of you who don't have other plans, I hope you'll come by and visit. I'll have all my stuff out, including new projects and things in process. This is your chance to peek in my sewing room and see where all the magic happens. :)

Finally! After months of working on these there are a ton of new tea cozies in the shop! Including this lovely one made with some beautiful wool fabric from a skirt my mom wore when she was in high school. It's one of my favorite sheeps ever.

Sheep and cats this round. Next up: probably little chickens and maybe some more penguins.
