It's that time of year when folks are adding to their flock or starting out for the first time, so I wanted to let people know that our LIVE Black Soldier Fly larvae are now available at the Feed Drive-Thru window at CHS Mountain West Cooperative Missoula on Reserve Street! These chicken treats are the ONLY live BSFL raised in Montana, and are the protein boost pick-me-up your birds will love to hunt.

If you've got any errands in Missoula, swing by the drive-thru feed store at CHS and ask for Bad Frass BSFL.

We're thrilled to announce that our LIVE Black Soldier Fly larvae are now available at the Feed Drive-Thru window at CHS Mountain West Cooperative Missoula on Reserve Street!

Huge thanks to everyone who’s shown interest and support so far, allowing us to finally bring this sustainable, local option to the shelves.

Hello all!
I plan to bring a batch of live black soldier fly larvae down to Stevensville on Sunday, 10/27 between 1pm and 2pm. The prices are $5 per 1/2 pound, or $9 for a pound.

My plan as of right now is to be available to meet in the parking lot of the Super 1 Foods:

39 Stevensville Cutoff Rd IW, Stevensville, MT 59870

I'm flexible a bit before and after this time frame if needed but would prefer to stay in that window if possible. If you plan to come or if you want to make a separate arrangement, please don't hesitate to reply to this post or text me at (406) 284-5525.

Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL) are an excellent source of protein, fat, fiber, and calcium for egg laying hens and broilers. Rather than the bags of dried mealworms you can get at the store, chickens get to hunt the live larvae which encourages healthy pecking and brooding habits (see the video below of some Butler Creek birds going to town!).
