💙 A Little Jelly, A Lotta Whoa… and a Bittersweet Announcement 💛

After a lot of thought, discussion, and careful deliberation, we’ve made the difficult decision to pause Hormell Hill’s Spicy Jelly.

This business started during COVID with a few homegrown peppers, some peaches from a neighbor, and an idea that we never expected would grow into what it has become. What made it truly special, though, was all of you who bought our jelly, shared our posts, recommended us to friends, came to see us at events, and continued to support us year after year.
But life has changed.

We both have full-time jobs, and our kids are growing up. Their activities, interests, and the time they need from us are requiring more and more of our attention. And as much as we have loved making jelly, we’ve realized that this is time with our family that we simply can’t get back.

Our family has been a huge part of helping Hormell Hill grow, and now it’s time for us to devote that time back to them. ❤️
This isn't goodbye forever. It’s a pause.
All of our recipes are safely tucked away, and the plan is to bring Hormell Hill back when life slows down a little. (I know… I can already hear the side-eye saying, “Yeah, like THAT’S ever going to happen.” 😂)

In the meantime, if you find yourself really needing some Hormell Hill’s, batch orders of 8 or more jars per flavor can still be made by request with advance notice. We have a feeling Christmas may be the time of year we hear from quite a few of you! 🎄

Our page will remain open, and we’ll pop in from time to time with updates, memories, and the occasional jelly-related shenanigan.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for every jar you bought, every kind word you shared, every friend you sent our way, and every time you chose to support our little family business.
We started this with our family, and because of all of you, it became so much more than we ever imagined.

Still waiting on final approval, so I'm going to post what I can about it for interest generation.

We are looking to host a market for a fundraiser.

If you go to any of the local Friday night football games, you have definitely heard them fire up the crowd ( I don't know how to say it any other way without directly saying it, and as we are waiting on approval, I can't directly say it.)

That being said, the planned Market will tentatively be on November 28, it is the Saturday after Thanksgiving in Moncks Corner. I know people like to do Christmas shopping and the goal is to help keep things local, while supporting the community and children.

Please tag any of your vendor friends, share this post, or let me know if this is something that you could do.

Also please bear with me through this process as it would be my first time hosting a market, and trying to make sure everything is taken care of properly.

Unfortunately, due to the forecasted weather, Deepwater Vineyard’s Blessing of the Vine event scheduled for Saturday, May 30th has been canceled. We were looking forward to spending the day with everyone, but Mother Nature had other plans.
We’re hoping to make our way back out to Deepwater Vineyard for their Grape Stomp Festival on August 15th, so stay tuned for that one. 🍇

As much as we need the rain, it's not our friend this weekend.

Moss Grove has been cancelled for tomorrow. Rescheduling may or may not happen. If it doesn't, we'll be back come fall market. 🚫🚫🚫

Our next event: We're blessing some vines and grapes at Deepwater Vineyard on May 30th. 🍇 🍷

We’re heading back to where it all began… and we’re bringing the heat with us 🔥

Moss Grove Plantation Market was our very first event over 3½ years ago — and on Saturday, May 2nd, we’re making our return.

To celebrate, we’re throwing it all the way back with the OG flavor Wildberry 🍇 (don’t worry… it’s had a glow-up since then).

Hormell Hill’s Spicy Jelly is headed to the Moss Grove Plantation Spring Fling this Saturday, May 2nd from 10AM–3PM — and we’re bringing the heat (and the sweet 😏).
Even better? Amber is spending her birthday weekend doing what she loves most — slinging jellies and serving smiles. So if you see her, make sure to wish her a happy birthday… and maybe grab a jar (or three) to celebrate properly 🎉🔥

Alright, I’m just going to say it… I’m terrible at consistently posting on social media 😅 Not exactly a great trait for a small business owner, but we’re working on it!
That said, we wanted to make sure y’all know we’ll be out at the Town of Moncks Corner’s Pickin’ in the Corner event this Saturday. If it’s anything like Shenanigans, you might want to swing by early and grab your jars before they’re gone!
We’ll also be at Moss Grove on May 2nd — and it just so happens to be Amber’s birthday weekend 🎉 So come on out, say hey, and help us wish her a very happy birthday!
