We have lost our "Badger"
Their life span is about 10 years, he was 10 and a half. My gosh, he will be missed. He was an amazing livestock guardian.

So last night while checking on the llamas and doing chores, I cannot find my female Great Pyr, Abby.
My male Badger was at the barn, but not Abby.
As I walk through the barn I hear a baby llama cry, (a high pitched humming). Realize this baby is without mom. Now it is dark, I started out looking for this 18 year old mom and cannot find her in a 30 acre pasture behind the lake.
I see my female Pyrenees eyes in the head lights of my Kabota. And there Abby was, laying by the dead mom, keeping guard over her.
We are so grateful for our great pyrenees. Also so sad today that Lazara has died. She was 18 years old. Her baby girl is 5 months old, so she should be good. Thanks, Abby..

Livestock guardian, Abby is very serious about her job. Most llamas love and tolerate her. There are two llamas in our herd of 80 who will charge her. "Everyone is an individual".
