The plan encourages data centers, light industrial projects and “clean” manufacturing for the industrial area. It discourages warehouses, heavy industrial and outdoor storage facilities.

The plan doesn’t include guidance for further residential development in the area.

The Route 33 Gateway Small Area Plan, which county supervisors approved last week, provides recommendations for design standards and infrastructure improvements for an area between Winns Church Road and the Henrico County line.
