Farmstead Feels shares our journey as a single mom and my child with autism learning, growing, and healing together through hobby farming. Here, we raise animals, breed rabbits, learn homesteading skills/trades, and explore the simple routines of farm life that build confidence, independence, and real-life skills my son can carry into adulthood.
There is no way for anyone to know what my son’s future looks like. He may live with and rely on me forever…. But, unfortunately I cannot live forever. Special needs parents have the same biggest fear: “What will happen to our children when we are gone?”
This little acre and a half that we now call home is the legacy I will leave behind for him someday…
It will ensure he will always have somewhere to go and a place to live. The skills we are trying and learning together now are all ways he could potentially provide himself with money and/or food. That is my primary goal.
Our farm has not only helped him develop responsibility and purpose, but it has also been a source of healing and strength for me after my divorce.
Through Farmstead Feels, we hope to inspire others by showing how caring for animals, working with nature, and building something meaningful can support emotional well-being, personal growth, and connection for anyone navigating autism or mental health challenges.
Most importantly, we hope to share some of the simple joys we get to experience daily with others.

OBSESSED. 😍
We picked up this lil girl this morning.
Meet miss Maple! She’s a Kune Kune piglet that was born December 1st and still on the bottle.
She loves to snuggle 🥰
Pictures don’t do her justice, she’s so tiny and pretty. ❤️
