As I finally got this page back after nearly 2 years of a hack, I’m here to say that I no longer work on the farm for the Embry’s.

The passion for the horses will never leave. My daughter and I still have her little heart horse and it has since been boarded elsewhere.

Sweet baby Firefly, the first foal of 2022, is now ONE today.

Crazy to think this girl is a yearling now. I love her, she loves me, and thank goodness she’s a tiny bit sweeter than her mother—The Dragon.

But in a sincerity, she brightens my day every morning with her nickers and pawing at the gate for her food. The barn’s always a bit louder in the morning from her demands.

The day is over and so is Billy. 😮‍💨😴

Billy is absolutely exhausted and this mother of a pre-teen is SO here for it! No, but really, he’s a good kid. We did a TON of work today. Moved babies, got the back up double stall ready for the girls (Angel and Firefly, so that we can work on training Gidgit and Rocky(?) and giving independence to them), filled up a stall with 6 loads of fresh shavings, bleached troughs, gave food and water to all the horses 2x, and removed at least 10 loads of gunk from stalls and the barn.

We’re pretty spent today! But what an AMAZING day today! Also, proud of Angel for really coming out of her shell and being so darn good!

Brought some help with me to the farm today!

He gets straight A’s.
He will get up at 6:30.
Works with me for 6 hours (even though he only needs 3).
Doesn’t get paid, this is his community service for his BETA club.
Works hard.
Proud of this kiddo.

Welcome Everyone!

Yes, it’s the same ol’ Calin. Unfortunately, I had to take a personal break from my old page. In doing so, Facebook automatically deactivated the page after 30 days of inactivity. Sigh, gone are the precious photos, videos, and dorkiness.

So, here’s to a new page with the same quirky antics. A new year, a new start? Nope, but it IS a New Year! What will the year of 2023 bring us?

Well, it’s still winter (though let’s not jinx it, I’m liking this winter if we can keep it like today). Though, we will have foaling season here before we know it! We even know the gender of some of the upcoming foals 🤫.

Farm work doesn’t let up, but I try to make it fun. Follow this page for sneak peeks, behind the scenes, all the new updates, and a look into the barn from my perspective!
