**Male pup now available, 6-1/2 months old. A shift in our plans has created a great opportunity for someone!**
We work neutered males with our intact females (in pairs). We lost one neutered male K last year, and another neutered male is getting older, so we’ll be retiring him in the next year. We planned to retain (and neuter) two male pups from our recent Hera (Lozen x Lyah daughter) x Ty litter as replacements. I had a favorite male pup I hoped to keep. I had PennHip testing done on him because I want to keep a pup with a hip score outside of what we like for breeding purposes. Instead, he has good hips. He is much too important to the K gene pool due to the rare Lozen lines (on top of the strong hips of Lyah and Ty), neutering him straight away isn’t the best option. Soon after we received the hip results, a stray, young male Great Pyr made his way to our farm (Our older neutered male is a GP). I saw him posted on our fb community page and thought….I could use him instead and wait till I can PennHip another of our male pups from our Pepper litter for us to keep. We gave him a trial run and some time for anyone to claim him. He’s not microchipped, and no one has come forward as owner, so he’s staying (neutered).
Back to our male K pup, my pick who we’ve been calling Vulk. He’s been working with our older Ks and has been 24/7 with our stock, a rotation of cattle, chickens, guineas and turkeys. He has a wonderful temperament, a strong desire to guard and bond with our animals and respects fences. His brindle coat is unique (picture in comments). If breeding is a consideration, his hip testing has been done for you! I’ll only place him as a breeder with someone who will sign off on the new AKDA Breeder Code of Ethics. Contact me for further details, serious inquiries only. (We also have a few pups available from our Pepper x Lozen litter.)
