Yall remember Moo? She had twins last year in December?
Remember she had a very small udder and thatās why I wasnāt prepared for her birth? Then she wasnāt even able to sustain her twins? Ringing bells?
Well.. ole girl threw me one heck of a curve ball today.
Sheās been dealing with intestinal parasite, and even tho sheās been treated, she has not been 100%..
Not one time did it cross my mind she may have been pregnant..
This evening, I walked outside to finish my chores, and saw a fresh little baby goat, flopping around on the ground. It was already getting cold, and was grey colored in the mouth from lack of oxygen.
Not far from it, was another fresh baby, cold and unfortunately no longer with us.
Moo had no signs she was even pregnant. No udder development, no pregnant belly, no swollen v***a, nor did I see her mating with Bruno.
My thoughts are, is that Moo was just as shocked. I think, because she is still suffering from the effects of the parasite, she wasnāt able to make it to the one we lost in time to clear the sac. The other one was bound for the same fate, but thankfully I found it in time. Praise the lord.
Moo, is not look great. She is very lethargic, and almost in a trance. She has eaten some, and had some honey water, but I am very concerned for this girl. Please say a quick prayer for her.
I am not sure the prognosis on the living baby, it is crying out, it is moving and it pinked up a bit. I have it inside warming up, then will give it some colostrum.
I am guarded at best.
Wish us luck..
